'Jurassic World 3': Release date, plot, cast, and everything you need to know about next instalment of the franchise
After the massive success of 'Jurassic World' and 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom', the dinosaurs (and Chris Pratt) are returning to theaters with the as-yet-untitled upcoming movie 'Jurassic World 3'. The movie will reportedly be uniting 'Jurassic World' stars Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard with their predecessors in dino-hunting, Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum from 'Jurassic Park' for what might very well be the last 'Jurassic' film.
Here’s everything you need to know about the project:
Release Date
'Jurassic World 3' will be stomping its way to theaters on June 11, 2021.
Plot
Details about the story of the threequel have been kept tightly under wraps. The last film in the series, 'Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom', ended on a cliffhanger with the island destroyed and the dinosaurs let loose on the world. 'Jurassic World 3' is expected to start after a time jump, showing the long-term effects of dinosaurs being released into the wild once more. Colin Trevorrow, the film's director, has revealed that the movie won't be showing a war between humans and dinosaurs for the simple reason that the dinos are just wild animals, incapable of organizing themselves into an army along the lines of 'Planet of the Apes'. We'll probably see the heroes attempting to recapture the dinosaurs and send them to some sort of enclosure where they can't harm humanity or our ecosystem.
Cast
Chris Pratt
The 'Guardians of the Galaxy' star will be reprising his role as Owen Grady from the previous 'Jurassic World' movies. He will be joined by co-star Bryce Dallas Howard ('Terminator Salvation') as Claire Dearing, Isabella Sermon as Maisie Lockwood, and 'Jurassic Park' stars Laura Dern, Sam Neill, and Jeff Goldblum as Ellie Sattler, Alan Grant, and Ian Malcolm respectively.
Director
Colin Trevorrow
Trevorrow will be back in the director's chair for the third film after serving as director for 'Jurassic World' and as co-writer for 'Fallen Kingdom'. Trevorrow and Steven Spielberg are going to be executive producers for the movie with Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley producing. Emily Carmichael ('Pacific Rim: Uprising') has written the screenplay alongside Trevorrow based on a story developed by Trevorrow and Derek Connolly.
Trailer
A trailer for the film will probably be released in late 2020 as the movie itself is expected to start filming only earlier that year. In the meantime, watch this space for updates.
