Joy Behar wants Amy Robach's 'GMA' spot as ABC rushes to find replacement after TJ Holmes affair scandal
NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Joy Behar is moving quickly to take over 'Good Morning America's vacant chair of Amy Robach after the latter's bombshell scandal. 'The View' host could be putting her hat in the ring to take over the news desk after TJ Holmes and Robach cut their ties with ABC after their extramarital affair became public, taking an ugly turn.
"Joy is already making phone calls to producers and telling them they'd be crazy not to hire her to be the new face of the program," spilled a source. According to reports, the network is in talks with former CBS journalist DeMarco Morgan to replace Holmes. The insider claimed, "Joy still thinks she's the cat's meow and sharper than any of the other ladies on The View — or GMA for that matter," RadarOnline reported.

Joy Behar has been vocal about her wish to fill the role
The comedian thinks it would be the ideal moment for a job change because the network is now rushing to fill the spots. "Joy wants to be in a real news setting and is making pitches to powers that be over at GMA," the source explained, adding, "It's no secret they're cleaning house and on the lookout for talent." Insiders claimed that Joy has fought with every single one of her 'The View' co-hosts, including the influential Whoopi Goldberg, and that both she and the producers have grown tired of the drama.
The 80-year-old stalwart of 'The View' for many years has also been vocal about her wish to fill the role. "People are onto Joy and think that's why she's badmouthing Amy behind the scenes," the insider close to the host said.
"Joy sees nothing wrong with it. If any and TJ had learned to control their impulses, they'd still have their jobs," the source shadily stated about the journalist's romance.
"Joy, on the other hand, is all business, and she thinks she'd bring respectability back to the program. She always thought it was a good darned show before Amy and TJ tarnished it," the source added.
Robach and Holmes romance scandal
Robach and Holmes' illicit relationship was made public after photos of them sharing intimate moments were revealed by the press in 2022 when the two were visiting New York to relax. The two were taken off the air in the days that followed, which caused them to leave 'GMA' and receive the entire amount of their contract compensation. “After several productive conversations with Amy Robach and TJ Holmes about different options, we all agreed it’s best for everyone that they move on from ABC News. We recognize their talent and commitment over the years and are thankful for their contributions," a representative for the network said in a statement.
