'Counting On': Joy-Anna Duggar recalls miscarriage nightmare, reveals necklace honoring the memory of her unborn daughter

Joy-Anna Duggar spoke about the pain of losing her stillborn daughter and recently, the 'Counting On' star wore a necklace dedicated to her daughter

Joy-Anna Duggar and her husband Austin recently revealed that the pair had suffered misfortune as they shared they had lost their child even before they could hold her in their hands. Taking to Instagram, Joy-Anna recalled the moment she and her husband got the news that their baby was not moving. "Today marks one week since we heard these words…“So this is your baby’s heart (pointing to the ultrasound screen). I don’t hear a heartbeat or see any movement.” she noted.

The reality star recalled that the pair had gone for a gender reveal and even though they were overjoyed after finding out that they would welcome a daughter, their happiness soon turned into a nightmare after they were told there was no heartbeat. Even though the pair did not get a chance to hold their precious little one in their arms they decided to name her.

"We named her Annabell Elise. Annabell means “God has favored me”, and Elise means “God satisfies”. What a precious thing to know that when our daughter opened her eyes, the first thing she saw was the face of Jesus," she wrote in the post.

Recently, Joy posted a picture of a necklace which was dedicated to her daughter. The necklace had their daughter, Annabell Elise engraved on it. "Thank you @meagalina for this thoughtful gift! It means so much to have such a caring family around me! I love you!💖" she captioned the picture.

Fans were quick to comment on how they too have cherished their loved ones in the same way. "I have a necklace I wear for my Henry Travis I lost 💙 wonderful way to always keep the memory of your child nearby and close to your heart," wrote one fan, while another added, "I got a gold ring with my angel baby birthstone to always remember!"

The 'Counting On' star further noted that the family was getting through the tough times by having faith in God. "Although we don’t understand why, God has given us unexplainable peace and comfort during this very difficult time," she said. "Yes, it still hurts and we have cried countless tears, but we know that we can trust the Lord. In the words of King David after the loss of his baby, “I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me” (2 Sam 12:23). We don’t grieve as those who have no hope because we trust that we will see this little one again."
