A show where Hollywood stars surprise their loved ones with large home renovations, ‘Celebrity IOU’ is returning for a second season with ‘Property Brothers’ Drew and Jonathan Scott. Jonathan Scott announced that his girlfriend Zooey Deschanel will star in the premiere episode. This is the first time Zooey will join her boyfriend on one of his many hit HGTV series.

The brothers will also be joined by other celebrities like Justin Hartley, Allison Janney, Rainn Wilson and more. The first season captivated more than 36 million viewers and smashed records as the highest-rated first-year series in HGTV history.

Release date

The first four episodes of the season will premiere on Monday, December 14, at 9 pm ET/PT.

Plot

This season will follow Drew and Jonathan as they meet each celebrity at the renovation recipients’ home, ready to work together to create beautiful, customized spaces that reward mentors, friends and family members. The premiere episode will showcase Zooey Deschanel and the Brothers reimagining a small home into an open concept floor plan for her lifelong friend, a therapist and mom-of-two who always puts others before herself. Other projects this season will include a drab backyard turned luxurious outdoor oasis and a cramped galley kitchen transformed into a dream space for cooking and entertaining.

Cast

Twin brothers Drew and Jonathan Scott, 42, are a hit with the audiences who enjoy watching them combine forces to help families with their home renovations. Drew is a real estate expert and he largely looks after scouting neglected houses and negotiates the purchases while the other half of the Property Brothers, Jonathan Scott, a licensed contractor, looks after the renovations. Over the years, they've helped a sizable number of families to find, buy and transform fixer-uppers into dream homes and in doing so they also follow a strict timeline and budget which they generally never have to exceed.

The success of the show 'Property Brothers' made way for a number of spin-off's 'Forever Homes' being one of them, and 'Buying and Selling', 'Brother Vs. Brother', and 'Property Brothers: At Home' all of which have been received well by the audiences. Drew and Jonathan have also been a part of a number of web series, have penned a book of their own, hosted their own radio show titled 'Off Topic with the Scott Brothers', and also have an app called Property Brothers Home Design.

The brothers born in Vancouver, British Columbia, are also co-founders of Scott Brothers Entertainment, which creates and produces TV shows, films, and digital content. Drew Scott is younger to his brother by four minutes which was a surprise to his parents—Jim and Joanne Scott—who had thought she was giving birth to a single child.

His elder brother James Daniel would renovate their properties and would pay the boys from as young as eight years old to build and repair fences, decks, and barns. Even as children, the twins would often rearrange the furniture in their family home. As teens, they attended Thomas Haney Secondary School. After graduation, the family moved into their new home in Alberta, just as the twins were leaving for Calgary to go to university.
