NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News host Jesse Watters is once again in hot water. However, this time, it's not a controversial political statement from him that has garnered attention.

Instead, a peculiar comment about his pet dog has unsettled many, including his fellow co-hosts.

The host recently revealed that he "got rid of" his dog for a trivial reason and did not explain what he meant, scaring people into speculating about what he might have done to his former pet.

Watters was confronted by his co-hosts and later faced criticism on social media as well.

While Watters' co-hosts are used to his bizarre moments, the host managed to shock them even further with his revelation about his dog.

"We ended up getting rid of the dog that we got," he said as Dana Perino exclaimed in the background, "Oh my gosh, Jesse!"

Perino herself is a big dog lover and a pet owner. Her Instagram profile is home to more snaps of her vizsla Percy.

"What? Well, I think we have to level with the American people," Watters responded.

The rest of the hosts finally reacted as well, with Jeanine Pirro questioning him, "Where's my dog?"

The two hosts shared sibling pets from the pet litter. Pirro is a mother to multiple pet dogs as well.

"Don't say you got rid of it!" co-host Greg Gutfeld added to the chaos, who has his own beloved Frenchie named Gus.

"'Got rid' is a euphemism," Watters tried to defend himself but did not explain further even when his co-hosts prodded, barely adding that it "didn't work out."

Jesse Watters slammed for 'getting rid' of his dog

Many took to X (formerly Twitter) to call out Watters on his irresponsible comment.

"Jesse Watters what did you do to your Dog!!!!!!!!" questioned one X user.

Another one posted, "I hope Jesse Watters was kidding when he implied he unalived a dog because he didn't like it? That is what I got out of that. If it is true, what an a*****e." One also went on to mock him as they wrote, "@JesseBWatters gets a dog. Dog isn't "perfect". Watters dumps dog. (No surprise. Pompous git.)"

"JFC Jesse Watters is pure evil," another post read, "He said live on air, that he “Got rid of his dog, because it wasn’t working out.” He never said how he got rid of it. I’m afraid to know."

A concerned viewer also said, "I’m hoping Jesse Watters will explain tomorrow that the dog he “got rid off,” was sent back to the breeder or she’s now with a new family. I don’t say this because I care about Jesse Watters I’m genuinely concerned about the dog. I don’t know why he didn’t explain what happened."

An angered user said, "If I was Jesse Watters' dog, I'd bite him every day. Piece of s**t."

Another post read, "I volunteer at a shelter. When people bring in dogs because they "didn't work out" it's traumatizing for the dogs. Sometimes there are legit issues. Most people don't have the $$ to hire a trainer to work through those. Watters does. But he's an a*s & the dog probably hated him."
