Fat Joe and Ja Rule going head-to-head during their Verzuz battle on September 14 yielded a lot of excitement for fans of the iconic rappers. It egged on record producer and rapper Jermaine Dupri to issue a challenge to Sean Combs aka P. Diddy to a Verzuz which the latter refused to accept and schooled the former while at it.

This is not the first time Dupri has expressed an interest in a musical battle with Diddy. In the past, he'd said "I will smoke Diddy" if they were to come face to face. This is also not the first time Diddy expressed an interest in participating in a Verzuz but he would not do it with anyone but legendary record producer Dr Dre.

Jermaine Dupri Verzuz P. Diddy

Jermaine Dupri tweeted, "Somebody let @Diddy know I’m @thegarden right now! And he gon need some training for me." If we go back in time to September 2020, Dupri in an interview with Fat Joe on the 'Fat Joe Show' had made it clear how much he wishes to battle Diddy. “Jermaine, you for the culture. But if the Verzuz come on and it’s live from ATL with the chandeliers. You would prefer you to be sitting in one chair and Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs sitting in the other?"

JD replied, "A hundred percent. We gonna break the fuckin’ internet. You know, the Internet is broken that day… That’s what people want to see. That’s the thing everybody keep talkin’ about." Diddy on the other hand hasn't accepted the challenge yet but has teased one between him and Dre since April 2020, a month after Timbaland and Swizz Beatz established the platform to entertain fans during the pandemic.

Diddy responded to Dupri's recent challenge writing, "Beloved you my [N-word] but your arms too short to box with God!!! You ain't got enough hits. I’ll smash you with just biggie n Mary. But I do have the utmost respect on you as a musical legend - Dre the only one can get in the ring w me. - LOVE." Diddy might have a lot of hits to his name as a successful record producer and he might have schooled Dupri by making a mention of the same but fans on Twitter pulled a reverse on him, schooling him back in the process.

"Well that may be true, but let's make a rule that you can't use any records of artists you still owe a check to and let's see who wins," a user tweeted alluding to the fact that Diddy's label Bad Boy Records has been put on blast for not paying many artists signed with them. "Bro I don't even tweet but i had to speak my peace. @Diddy has always been a lil arrogant so I understand his response. But he smart. HE KNOWS @jermainedupri WILL SMOKE HIS BOOTS IF HE NOT CAREFUL. IT'S TOO RISKY. SO HE SAYS DR DRE. WHO WE ALL KNOW NOT THE TYPE DO A VERZUZ," another tweet read. "@Diddy who has to be in the studio with 5 other writers and producers, now thinks @jermainedupri is no match for him, the disrespect! I don’t like the way you people forget so easily, JD?!?! No match for diddy?! This is the most equally yoked producer verzuz there could be," another user tweeted.
