It seems the heavy environment created due to the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp’s defamation trial is not going to end soon even though a verdict in the case was reached on Wednesday, June 1. Depp won the trial that went on for seven-weeks as the jurors found that the 36-year-old actress indeed defamed him by writing an op-ed piece for The Washington Post in 2018 after her short marriage with the actor ended.

However, the jury was not completely against Heard as they ruled that the ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ star’s legal team was also at fault by calling “her abuse allegations a hoax”. Following the ruling, the 58-year-old actor expressed his happiness and shared on Instagram, “Truth never perishes. I hope that my quest to have the truth be told will have helped others, men or women, who have found themselves in my situation, and that those supporting them never give up.”

He also wrote, “Six years ago, my life, the life of my children, lives of those closest to me, and also, the lives of the people, who for many, many years have supported and believed in me were forever changed. All in the blink of an eye.”

Depp then mentioned: “And six years later, the jury gave me my life back. I am truly humbled,” before adding: “From the very beginning, the goal of bringing this case was to reveal the truth, regardless of the outcome. The best is yet to come and a new chapter has finally begun.”

On the other hand, Heard seemed disappointed and hurt as she posted on her Instagram page, “The disappointment I feel today is beyond words. I'm heartbroken that the mountain of evidence still was not enough to stand up to the disproportionate power, influence and sway of my ex husband."

She remarked: “It sets back the clock to a time when a woman who spoke up and spoke up could be publicly shamed and humiliated. It sets back the idea that violence against women should be taken seriously. I believe Johnny's attorneys succeeded in getting the jury to overlook the key issue of Freedom of Speech and ignore evidence that was so conclusive that we won in the U.K. I'm sad I lost this case. But I am sadder still that I seem to have lost a right I thought I had as an American - to speak freely and openly.”

Several Hollywood stars, including Bella Hadid, Jennifer Aniston, and Joey King, went on to show their support for Depp while liking his social media post. But one star, Jason Momoa, reportedly supported both the actors by liking their respective posts, which has not only annoyed people online but also confused them.

A user tweeted, “I am so disappointed in #JasonMomoa He is supporting Amber’s statement by liking it. It doesn’t matter that he liked Johnny’s statement too. #JusticeForJohnnyDepp #JusticeForJohnny #JohnnyDepp #JohnnyDeppVsAmberHeard #AmberHeard #AmberHeardIsALiar #DeppVsHeard #DeppHeardTrial.” Another user said, “So Jason Momoa liked #AmberTurd 's Instagram post about the verdict. Why Jason? Just why? #JusticeForJohnnyDepp.” “Not Jason Momoa liking the abuser Amber Heards post f**k him. such a shame I liked him 🤢🤮 #JusticeForJohhnyDepp #JasonMomoa #AmberHeard #AmberHeardIsAnAbuser #JohnnyDepp,” the third user remarked.

A tweet read: “A tad disappointed in #JasonMomoa 4 supporting AH (liked her IG post). If anyone ever falsely accused him I'm sure he would want ppl to hear him out first. SHE CLEARLY LIED! Idc if he didn't watch so he doesnt know but then he shouldnt support either. #JusticeForJohnnyDepp.” Another tweet added: “Jason Momoa liking Johnny Depp’s post made me happy until I saw he liked Amber Heard’s as well 🤮🤮🤮.”
