Janet Jackson will be taking to the stage for a new tour this summer. The 'Black Diamond World Tour' will be in support of her upcoming album which was announced on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon'. Her new album is scheduled for release later in the year. The upcoming tour will include songs from the forthcoming album as well as “a special performance of Rhythm Nation 1814,” according to Pitchfork.

Jackson’s tour kicks off on June 24 in Miami, Florida at the American Airlines Arena and wraps up on  August 23, in Tacoma, Washington at the Tacoma Dome.

Although Jackson released a reissue of 'Rhythm Nation 1814' last year in celebration of its 30th anniversary, her last studio LP, 'Unbreakable', was released in late 2015, so the new tour and 'Black Diamond' album comes as a pleasant surprise to fans. Fans shared their support of the news on Twitter with multiple gifs, pictures and comments saying, "And we are so very very ready... you realise you have made #JanFam very very happy... god bless you! Much love! (sic)" and "OMG  can't believe this is really happening ! The Queen is Back (sic)".

On 'The Tonight Show', Jackson spoke about the new album’s title in her interview with host Jimmy Fallon. She expressed, “It’s the toughest of the stones, of the diamonds, to cut. And I heard that immediately... as it’s hard to hurt, to destroy", adding, "And in my recent years I’ve come to realize that I’m incredibly strong. I see myself as this rock.” After relating herself to being similar to the diamond, "rough around the edges", she concluded that she wanted to "share some of her strengths and stories".
