We last saw Chairman Jang Dae-hee (Yoo Jae-Myung) visit Park Sae-ro-yi's (Park Seo-joon) pub Danbam after hearing about the large amount of money that Sae-ro-yi had invested in Jang Corporation. He is accompanied by Soo-ah (Kwon Na-ra), Jang Geun-won (Ahn Bo-hyun), and others, surprising Geun-soo (Kim Dong-Hee) who is Dae-hee's illegitimate son. One would have expected Sae-ro-yi to not put up with Dae-hee or Geun-won's presence, but he surprises everyone by welcoming them to his restaurant, probably because they are his customers. In the promo that was released of episode 7, we also see a shot of Dae-hee eating food at Sae-ro-yi's pub leading us to believe that despite the hatred that Sae-ro-yi has for Dae-hee and his son Geun-won, he would still treat them respectfully as customers.

We also see Sae-ro-yi approach Kang Min-Jung (Kim Hye-Eun) to convince her to take over as Dae-hee's predecessor, especially now that he has a good number of shares in Jang Corporation. Sae-ro-yi's hope is to show Dae-hee that to win in business and to become successful, one doesn't have to give up their pride or betray their belief system. He aims to achieve this with his 15-year plan, something that he had revealed in one of the past episodes when Geun-won taunted Sae-ro-yi about not being able to do anything despite knowing who killed his father.

Looks like Sae-ro-yi has already put a part of the plan in motion by buying a huge number of shares in Jang Corporation, and now by approaching Min-jung, he also shows that he has learned enough about a corporation being ruled by its shareholders. Now, all that is left is to see if he can carry out his plan as he expected or if Soo-ah, who works for Dae-hee, but is also his best friend that he is in love with will be an obstacle to him. She has already confessed that she will continue to be loyal to Jang Corporation, but will she be okay with Sae-ro-yi's plan to replace him with Min-jung?

The promo also shows how Geun-soo confronts his father. He moved out of the Jang residence while in high school and supported himself by working part-time jobs. Now, his family is hindering his attempt at living life without being involved with them or their drama. Cho Yi-seo (Park Da-mi) gives Geun-soo a word of advice and tells him to take Jang over. She is completely on the side of Sae-ro-yi and it isn't surprising that she would suggest something as absurd as this to a boy who is more interested in living life away from his uncaring family.

This is also why the confrontation in the promo is surprising. Was he forced to quit his job at Sae-ro-yi's pub? What pushed him to argue with his brother and ask his father about where Geun-soo belongs? That is a question that will be answered in the upcoming episode.

'Itaewon Class' episodes can be streamed on Friday and Saturday on Netflix.
