'Itaewon Class' Episode 14 ends on a cliffhanger, life comes full circle for Sae-ro-yi at the cusp of death

'Itaewon Class' Episode 14 ends with a scene that is almost a replica of the webtoon. This scene of Park Sae-ro-yi after he meets with an accident as if awaiting death mirrors the scene in which Sae-ro-yi's father had met within an accident in the initial episodes.
His father had no one to help and all Geun-won did was try to get away from the crime scene in an attempt to escape. With Sae-ro-yi, however, he has Geun-soo. The young Jang son looked shocked by how Sae-ro-yi saved him and got hit by a vehicle instead, and if we were to go by the webtoon, Sae-ro-yi will make it to the hospital.
However, the events in a run-up to this accident is actually a series of heartbreaking realizations and missteps. First, we see Sae-ro-yi confront Yi-seo after she expresses her love for him casually again. He asks her why he must feel guilty about not feeling the same way and Yi-seo is shocked. She hadn't expected Sae-ro-yi to be affected at all because she believed that he saw her only as a partner to work with, who would help him realize his goal.
However, things have recently changed and the first hint is when after a long time, Sae-ro-yi meets Soo-ah (Kwon Na-ra) but isn't as invested in her as before. Even Soo-ah notices the same and makes it quite uncomfortable by asking him if he still loves her.
It has been four years since they last spoke about being together, and that hadn't ended well. This time around, Sae-ro-yi doesn't even respond and tries to make it seem as if he is still interested in her, but it is clear that he has begun to develop feelings for Yi-seo over the past four years when the two worked together.
Now that he is realizing his feelings for her, when Yi-seo ends up passing out due to exhaustion, he panics. Despite this happening on a big, important day for himself and his fight against Dae-hee, he is more worried about Yi-seo. He loses against Dae-hee, yet he wants to return to the hospital because he is worried about Yi-seo and that's when he realizes his feelings for her.
Once he does, he tries to approach Yi-seo to tell his feelings but before he could approach her about it, he comes across Geun-soo. He tells him about his feelings for Yi-seo and tells him that she isn't just his partner and friend anymore, but beyond that, he has romantic feelings for. Just when he arrives at her hospital room, where she was left to get better, he sees she is not present. Things are strewn around in the hospital room, and it looks like she did not leave intentionally. He then gets a text message, which indicates that Yi-seo has been kidnapped.
He is asked to arrive at a spot alone. However, Geun-soo follows him and the two end up facing Geun-won together. Geun-won might have been abandoned by his father, yet he still wants to save Jang Corp from Sae-ro-yi for his father. So he decides that the best way to go about it is to take Sae-ro-yi out. What he did not expect was to see his half-brother Geun-soo with Sae-ro-yi. When Geun-soo tries to shake Geun-won down into telling them where Yi-seo is, Geun-won uses the men that he befriended in jail to take him out as well. Sae-ro-yi, who realizes what Geun-won has planned, interferes and saves Geun-soo, while he ends up getting severely hurt.
As he struggles to stay conscious, the only thing he keeps thinking is the one regret that he has in life, which was to reject Yi-seo's feelings four years ago. He is at the cusp of death as he sees moments from his life scroll by quickly. His fate? That is something we would have to wait to watch until the finale episode. Until then, let's hope Yi-seo and Sae-ro-yi have a happy ending written out for them.
