A ‘Wednesday’ star drops big Season 3 hint and Netflix’s hit show might return sooner than expected

Netflix’s ‘Wednesday’ just got another forward nudge, and this time it’s coming straight from someone who knows the drill inside and out. Hunter Doohan, who plays Tyler Galpin in the show, has shared a fresh update about Season 3. It suggests the show may be shifting its usual rhythm. After exploding into one of Netflix’s biggest hits of all time, the Jenna Ortega-led Addams Family spinoff returned last August with its second season. The streamer didn’t waste time confirming that Season 3 was on the way. Fans have been waiting ever since for any crumbs about when cameras might start rolling again.

And Doohan finally provided some answers while chatting on the Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum podcast. According to Doohan, production on ‘Wednesday’ Season 3 is coming up fast. Very fast. He explained that filming is expected to begin in the near future, once again in Dublin. And once things get going, they’ll be there for a while. As quoted by ScreenRant, “We’re about to go start shooting season 3,” Doohan said. “We usually shoot for like seven, eight months. And we’re going back to Dublin. That’s where we shot season 2.” That timeline alone is enough to get fans doing the math in their heads, because ‘Wednesday’ has followed a fairly consistent pattern so far.

Once filming wraps, the show typically needs around eight months before episodes are ready to land on Netflix. Season 1 was filmed from September 2021 through March 2022, then debuted in November 2022. Season 2 was filmed from May 2024 to December 2024, with Netflix splitting the release into two parts. The first part dropped in August 2025, and the second followed in September. Late summer has quietly become 'Wednesday' territory. Season 3 might break that habit. If cameras roll soon and filming wraps by late summer or early fall, as Doohan suggested, the post-production clock would start earlier than it did for Season 2.

Following the same gap as before, that could place ‘Wednesday’ Season 3 on Netflix around May or June 2027. That’s a noticeable change. Of course, nothing is locked in. Post-production could take longer this time. Netflix also hasn’t said a word yet about an official release window, episode count, or storyline details. So, all of this remains educated guesswork for now. Still, there are a few safe assumptions. Season 3 will likely stick with eight episodes, matching the first two seasons. Also, Jenna Ortega is set to return as Wednesday Addams, once again pulling double duty as both star and producer.

Other familiar faces are also expected back, including Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Georgie Farmer, Moosa Mostafa, Isaac Ordonez, Catherine Zeta-Jones, and Fred Armisen. Series creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar have kept the story details tightly under wraps. But they’ve offered a few teases in past interviews. Gough previously told Netflix’s Tudum that Season 3 will “continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.” Millar added that viewers will be meeting “more Addams family members and learning more family secrets.” That’s all for now. No trailer. No episode titles. Just a quiet confirmation that the wheels are already turning.
