Simon Cowell's head SET ON FIRE by 'America's Got Talent' contestant during auditions
WEMBLEY, LONDON: The creator of the 'Got Talent' franchise Simon Cowell was recently in a terrifying stunt on the set of 'Britain's Got Talent.' He was reportedly set on fire by one of the magicians during live auditions for the show in London. Read on to find out if Simon was seriously injured in this horrific stunt.
The 63-year-old 'Britain's Got Talent' judge was asked by one of the magician contestants to volunteer for the stunt. Simon's head was put under the hood and then doused with the lighter fluid. The Mirror reports that the former 'X Factor' judge's head was then locked in a box. The box had an opening at the front so that the audience and the judges could see what exactly was going on inside. When the lighter fluid was ignited, Simon's entire head burst into flames, leaving everyone in shock.

Seeing Simon's head covered with fire took the live audience in shock. One of the audiences among the live audition claimed, "The audience screamed, judges were out of their seats screaming, everyone was totally stunned." Thankfully, the crew took no time to put out the flames. Simon was in shock after the event. However, the rest of the judges as well as the audience were relieved as the fire was shut down. "I could feel liquid being poured on me but I had no idea it was lighter fluid!" Simon shared his experience with the stunt with the outlet. Thankfully, Simon faced no injury during the stunt.
It was 'scary' for judges to see Simon Cowell's head on fire
One of the fellow judges Alesha Dixon claimed, "Simon, he set your entire head on fire! It was very scary, you are a very brave man to do that. It made me realize how much we care about you, I was ready to come up there and rescue you." On the other hand, Bruno Tonioli stated that seeing Simon's head in that contraption reminded him of a scene from the movie 'Saw.' He claimed, "I've never seen anything like that." Amanda Holden who was taken aback by the scary scenario said, "It was massively entertaining but horrific to watch. It was scary."
'Got Talent' franchise keeps surprising the audience as well as the judges with such out-of-the-box stunts, but it can sometimes turn harmful. So, better be careful next time you perform any such an activity.
'America's Got Talent' has opened registration for Season 18. The new season is to release in 2023.
