'Payback for his affair': Viewers call out Patrick's wife as she gives junk food to 'My 600-lb Life' star
COLUMBUS, GEORGIA: Viewers of TLC's 'My 600-lb Life' are introduced to married pair Patrick and Amanda Macon from Georgia in the March 22 episode. Even though they were frustrated by Patrick's approach to his weight loss journey on the show, they were even more so by his wife, who appeared unfazed throughout the episode.
When viewers discovered that Patrick had been married to his wife Amanda for 20 years but had a 16-year-old daughter with someone else, they all concurred the math was off. The TLC star cleared the air by clarifying that he made an error four years into his marriage. He, on the other hand, admitted that he didn't feel safe labeling it a mistake because the final result was his daughter. And he was devoted to his daughter.

Patrick fails to lose weight by not 'eating right'
Patrick and his lovely wife Amanda are introduced to fans this week. His 16-year-old daughter is also introduced to fans. Patrick admits that he and Amanda have been married for 20 years, but he does not share their 16-year-old daughter with her. He admitted in the show that he had made an error. But he has a hard time labeling it a mistake because the circumstance resulted in his daughter, which he wouldn't trade for anything. Fortunately, his wife Amanda pardoned him and they were able to resolve their differences.
Patrick's daughter does not live with him. But lived close by and spent a lot of time at his house. It was understandably difficult for both her and him when he had to relocate to Texas to undergo weight loss surgery.
In the episode set that aired on March 22, 2023, Patrick is frantically trying to lose weight and get healthy. At a massive 657 pounds, Patrick begins his adventure with Dr Nowzaradan. He says, "I dread it" because every day is painful. Patrick continued that his "body’s giving up," adding, "I hate it." He feels like his wife Amanda and daughter Haley are now suffering because of him.
So as it is customary on 'My 600-lb Life', Dr Now presents him with a copy of his book, which includes the regimen as well as guidelines for getting started and eating right. When he visits the doctor for his six-month checkup, however, everything goes wrong.
Six months later, Patrick traveled from Georgia to Houston, Texas, for his subsequent visit. He was expected to reduce his weight. In contrast, he put on weight. He received harsh criticism from Dr Nowzaradan for gaining 30 pounds in between appointments. He is not sincere about saving his life, Dr Now tells him. Patrick then gave the justification that he had the flu. But the expert remained unconvinced. According to the doctor from 'My 600-lb Life', the majority of individuals who have the illness drop weight.
Patrick then responds with a chuckle, "Not me." Dr Now cautioned him, "Your body’s close to giving out" and noted his ongoing heart issues. He then slammed Patrick for making light of the situation.
He tells him that equates to a monthly weight increase of five pounds or more than a pound per week. And the doctor says it's pointless for Patrick to make the eleven-hour journey back to Houston if he is not going to work on himself.
Patrick is expected to weigh less than 560 pounds in order to be eligible for the operation. That would be a total weight reduction of 97 pounds for the 'My 600-lb Life' to undergo the gastric sleeve operation. He weighed 563 pounds, and Dr Now said, "Close enough."
'Trying to murder him with corn dogs and tater tots'
Fans called out Patrick's family as they remain angry with his failing weight loss journey on the show. A viewer tweeted, "It's hard to believe anyone would be OK with feeding this to Patrick. Looks like the wife and daughter both push him to eat junk." Some fans feel his wife is doing this because of his affair, "Patrick’s wife is trying to murder him with corn dogs and tater tots as payback for his affair," the viewer said.

Fans on Reddit also noted, "I swear his wife is nodding off during the appointments." Wondering about the state of Amanda, a fan questioned, "Can't figure out if the wife is just horribly depressed or self-medicating or both."
Seeing no support from his wife, a fan noted, "In the last clip he and his wife look to be close to the same size, unless she stops eating crap he’s never going to get healthy. She wouldn’t even pretend to try working out with him at the requisite gym segment?! My take is she’s high as a kite and eating non stop too, feeding him to keep him dependent so he doesn’t go out and cheat again. Can’t figure out how they are paying for all of it though…"
Some prayed that Amanda received the help she needs as they write, "Can't say I'm rooting for him but I hope his wife gets the help she needs. It's sad to see people so out of it." One question that seemed to be on everyone's mind was, "Do you guys think the wife feeds him out of resentment and anger from being cheated on?"
'My 600-lb Life' airs every Wednesday on TLC at 8 pm ET.
