Is Michael Bublé leaving ‘The Voice’? Coach drops bombshell hint during finale: ‘This is my last...’
Michael Bublé dropped a bombshell on the first night of the two-part finale of 'The Voice' Season 28, and we were not ready for it. Bublé, who first joined the singing competition in Season 26, is a two-time champion and is now aiming for a third victory this season. While the singer has been a fan favorite for his stellar mentorship, his recent revelation that he will be leaving 'The Voice' came as a complete surprise to everyone.
During the Season 28 finale of 'The Voice' on Monday, December 15, Bublé made a heartfelt revelation after one of his finalists, Jazz McKenzie, performed. "I wrote you last night; I told you you are the light … this is it. This is my last time here," Bublé told McKenzie, while adding, "I leave this show, and let me tell you, Jazz McKenzie, what a way to go. You are perfect," as per TV Insider. Bublé first won 'The Voice' in Season 26 and with Sofronio Vasquez, then returned in Season 27 to claim victory again with Adam David.
Now in Season 28, he aims for a three-peat, guiding two finalists, McKenzie and Max Chambers. Notably, it has long been confirmed that Bublé will not return as a coach for 'The Voice' Season 29. Instead, the panel features Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, and Adam Levine for the upcoming Battle of the Champions season. Premiering on Monday, February 23, 2026, at 9/8c, the season introduces new twists in every round and fast-paced competitive elements designed to raise the stakes for both coaches and contestants, as per TV Line.
'The Voice: Battle of Champions' will feature several new twists in Season 29, where each coach starts with 10 contestants, and during the Blind Auditions, they compete in a 'Triple Turn Competition' to see who can get the most three-chair turns. The winner earns a 'Super Steal' for the Battles, a one-time advantage that not only steals a contestant but also blocks other coaches from doing so.
In the Knockouts of 'The Voice: Battle of Champions', each coach can bring back two artists from previous seasons for an 'In-Season All-Star Competition', with CeeLo Green deciding the winner of each one-on-one sing-off. The coach with the most wins earns a second finalist spot in the finale. During the semifinals and finale, nine contestants will be reduced to four, with in-studio audience members, including superfans and past contestants, voting in real time, making it a first for the show.
