Is Ken Jennings back on TV? 'Jeopardy!' host to have his 74 consecutive wins available for streaming on Pluto TV
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Ever since the WGA strike hit Hollywood, fans of TV shows and films have been dreading any announcements related to the impending postponements of various projects. It's a gray situation because while they are excited to see their favorite pieces of media, they continue to stand in solidarity with the writers on the picket line in demand for basic labor rights.
'Jeopardy!' is currently on a hiatus while it prepares for its upcoming projects and takes a break for the summer. As soon as the recent season came to an end, Pluto TV made the exciting announcement of making Ken Jennings' run on the game show available for streaming.
Delays of upcoming season and tournaments
It is impossible to separate Jennings from 'Jeopardy!', especially given the fact that the iconic game show winner is now also the co-host for the Alex Trebek stage. With the hiatus currently ongoing, the show had planned a series of reruns to be aired in the meantime. But beyond that, the writers' strike had further affected the prospects of the regular schedule to be followed afterward.
While the producers are keen for the upcoming regular Season 40 to start airing in September, reports have previously hinted that the show will face a delay as they have no access to a writing staff.
While they are reworking the clues for this season through the existing archive, they are definitely short on hands who are experts in this job. On top of that, the production company for 'Jeopardy!' has also confirmed that they won't be working on other tournaments.
Ken Jennings run to return to TV through streaming platform
Many 'Jeopardy!' viewers will miss their favorite show's new and fun trivia episodes while it stays on hiatus and further delays. Some of them had also suggested a rerun of Jennings' time as a contestant on the show as a big chunk of the fanbase was not around 2004. Their prayers were clearly heard as streaming service Pluto TV will be making the 74-day consecutive winning streak available on their platform from next week.
The free streaming service will be putting up the episodes for their 'Jeopardy!' channel starting August 7, 2023. This is perfect for people who not only want to witness Jennings in action on the other side of the stage but for those who miss the legendary host Alex Trebek as well.
