LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'House of the Dragon' Season 2 Episode 1 premiered on HBO on Sunday, June 16, 2024. The 'Game of Thrones' prequel, renowned for its epic battles, thrilling twists, and supernatural elements, continues to captivate audiences

Viewers of 'Game of Thrones' were familiar with terms like Wargs and their prophetic individuals who could predict the future.

'House of the Dragon' adds the supernatural element with Helaena Targaryen (Phia Sabin).

Helaena Targaryen was one of the biggest talking points after the first episode, as she became the victim of Blood and Cheese, played by Sam C Wilson and Mark Stobbart, respectively.

Helaena Targaryen lost her son, Prince Jaehaerys, in the first episode. This devastating loss will have a long-term effect on her character throughout the series.

But it seems that she predicted the death of her child with the mention of rats earlier in the episode. Her husband Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) called her a mystery.

Here's a look at her premonitions and whether she is a dragon dreamer.

In 'Fire and Blood,' Helaena is not a dragon dreamer. In George R.R. Martin's books, a dragon dreamer is a Targaryen character who can predict the future.

A significant reference to a dragon dreamer comes from Targaryen history when a Targaryen predicted the Doom of Valyria. This foresight prompted their move to Dragonstone, allowing them to survive the event.

A prophetic dream called 'A Song of Ice and Fire' also prompted Aegon the Conqueror to unite the Seven Kingdoms.

Helaena is not described as a dragon dreamer in the book, but in the show, she is seen casually dishing out prophetic statements that end up being true.

There's an element of nonchalance to her predictions, which seem innocuous until they come true.

Helaena's premonitions are different from Aegon's dream, which is described as being clearer than memory.

Helaena makes casual observations that seem meaningless at the time but eventually reveal their significance as the narrative progresses.

For instance, she casually predicts that Aemond Targaryen (Ewan Mitchell) will need to lose an eye to ride a dragon. It turns out to be true as Aegon loses an eye soon after he rides Vhagar.

Another instance of her prophecy in the first season was her foreseeing Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) and her dragon breaking through the floor. She casually said 'Beware the beast beneath the boards' before the event took place.

In Season 2 Episode 1, she claims that she isn't afraid of dragons but fears rats, despite there being no rats present at the time.

This seemingly casual statement foreshadows a tragic prophecy that eventually comes true when Blood and Cheese pose as ratcatchers to kill her son.
