Emmy Russell was seen fighting her nerves in the last few 'American Idol' episodes

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Emmy Russell, confidently clad in a t-shirt and jeans, graced the 'American Idol' Season 22 stage barefoot as she prepared to perform. As the granddaughter of Loretta Lynn, she brought her unique charm and talent to the Top 14 of 'American Idol.' Singing her original song "Skinny," which she previously performed during her audition, Emmy showcased her artistic flair and emotional depth. Despite the pressure, she delivered a memorable performance, securing her spot in the next round of the competition.

However, fans were left concerned when Emmy appeared barefoot on stage, without her shoes, sparking worries about what might have happened. "Why is Emmy Russell barefoot?,"  a user asked. "Emmy where are your shoes girl?" asked another. Others were concerned, as the singer was seen visibly nervous during her performance. "Okay wait someone needs to genuinely help Emmy and get her some water I haven’t ever seen someone shake like that I am genuinely worried." 

Some called her out for singing the same song as her audition. "I actually like Emmy but why are we out here repeating songs?" asked one. " I’ve been listening to Emmy’s audition song on repeat for weeks," added another. 

Lionel Richie calls Emmy an 'incredible' songwriter

Emmy's performance on American Idol garnered high praise from the judges as Lionel Richie was particularly impressed, describing her rendition as a potential hit record and commending her songwriting skills. Despite its soft and quiet nature, Emmy's pure tone shone through beautifully.

Katy Perry echoed Lionel's sentiments, expressing her admiration for Emmy's original song and desiring more breath and longer, more powerful notes. Luke Bryan, touched by the emotion conveyed in the performance, declared it his favorite from Emmy thus far. “That’s a hit record.," he said. 

Jelly Roll appreciates Emmy's "shy" personality 

Jelly Roll expressed his happiness for Emmy, knowing she was nervous before her performance. As Lionel Richie praised Emmy's vocal texture, noting that it embodies her entire career and that her singing resonates with him.

Katy Perry expressed her delight in the current season of 'American Idol' being welcoming to singer-songwriters like Emmy and encouraged her to continue pushing her vocals. Luke Bryan commented that as people become more acquainted with Emmy, her timidity will diminish.

Furthermore, Jelly Roll also noticed Emmy's legs trembling, a clear sign of nerves. Sensing her anxiety, he observed that Emmy seemed worried about the possibility of losing the wonderful things in her life. Despite her talent and potential, Emmyshared about her emotions, admitting that she worries that the lovely things in her life may leave.
