HBO's 'The Last of Us' Season 3 is all set to recast a key character, and we were not expecting it. The post-apocalyptic drama, based on the PlayStation game of the same name, has already undergone major changes following the departure of co-creator Neil Druckmann. While 'The Last of Us' Season 2 failed to impress fans as much as season 1, the show is now gearing up to make some significant changesfor the next installment.

The charcater un discussion is Manny played by Danny Ramirez. As per reports, Ramirez will be recast in 'The Last of Us' Season 3 due to scheduling conflicts. Introduced in 'The Last of Us' Season 2, Manny is a former Firefly and a loyal soldier whose upbeat demeanor masks deep emotional scars. He is a close ally of Abby (Kaitlyn Dever) and plays a key role in her quest for revenge against Joel Miller (Pedro Pascal,) following the Firefly hospital massacre, as per Variety.

Notably, Ramirez is best known for his role as Joaquin Torres/Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, appearing in 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier,' 'Captain America: Brave New World,' and the upcoming 'Avengers: Doomsday.' He is also set to star in the Jean-Michel Basquiat biopic 'Samo Lives.' In 'The Last of Us' Season 2, Manny was introduced as a former Firefly who became a member of the Washington Liberation Front. He also stood out being more committed to his role as a WLF soldier than some of his allies, despite Isaac's  dismissive attitude as tensions rose toward war with the Seraphites, as per ScreenRant.

With 'The Last of Us' Season 2 ending midway through the game's story, Manny still has a significant role ahead in Season 3, including helping Abby search for someone close to her to participating in the WLF's impending assault on the Seraphites, which makes his recasting a notable shift for the series. A release date for 'The Last of Us' Season 3 has not been officially announced, but HBO is targeting a 2027 release, as per RadioTimes.

'The Last of Us' Season 3 will center on Abby, with Kaitlyn Dever stepping into a lead role as the story shifts to her perspective. While Ellie (Bella Ramsey) was once thought to be absent, creator Craig Mazin has confirmed she will return alongside Dina (Isabela Merced), though in a reduced capacity. Despite several major character deaths in the 'The Last of Us' Season 2 finale, the timeline shift back to Abby's story, mirroring the games.
