'Into the Dark: Pure': Release date, plot, cast, and everything you need to know about season 1's finale
Hulu's anthology horror 'Into the Dark' is about to return once again with a brand new episode to celebrate the occasion of Daughter's Day which falls in September and the series is really not messing around when it comes to the fresh horrors the day can bring. In the Father's Day episode we saw the focus on a father's responsibility to save his kids in the wake of their mother's death, the Daughter's Day one will spin a whole new twist to fatherhood, as we'll see young teenage daughters undergoing a 'purity retreat' upon the command of their fathers. Eerie, creepy, and unsettling in equal parts, the episode titled 'Pure' will see Jahkara Smith as one of the daughters, who tries to live up to her father's horrifying expectations while struggling to keep her sanity intact.
Release date:
Into the Dark's show's twelfth and final installment, 'Pure', is about to premiere on September 6 this year, only on Hulu. The good news is that the show was just renewed for a second season, so expect more creepy, horrifying, satirical takes on your favorite festivals.
Plot:
According to the official synopsis of the feature-length episode, "In the female coming-of-age horror story, several teen girls perform a secret ritual at a purity retreat and, when one of them begins to see a supernatural entity, the terrifying question emerges, what is more dangerous: the demon they’ve unleashed, or the pressure to conform to their fathers’ expectations."
Cast:
Jahkara Smith known widely for her Youtube avatar Sailor J, and for her role in the AMC show 'NOS4A2', will be playing the role of Shay, one of the girls at the purity retreat. McKaley Miller plays another similar girl called Jo, attending the retreat, and Scott Porter from 'The Good Wife' plays Pastor Seth. 'Cobra Kai' and 'Heathers' actor Annalisa Cochrane also stars alongside Ciara Bravo, Jim Klock, and T.C. Carter.

Produced by Jason Blum's Blumhouse Productions that has gifted horror fans with the 'Paranormal Activity', 'The Purge' franchise and 'Culture Shock', 'Into the Dark' comes from director Hannah Macpherson. The teleplay for the movie was written by her too, based on a story by Paul Fischer and Paul Davis.
