It has been more than five years that we have seen the band getting together for music or a performance. The members – Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Rob Bourdon, Joe Hahn, and Dave Farrell – were last seen together in October 2017’s ‘Linkin Park and Friends: Celebrate Life in Honor of Chester Bennington’.
Bennington joined Linkin Park in 1999 and made his debut in the 2000 album ‘Hybrid Theory’. The album was a massive success and sold more than 4.8 million copies during its debut year. The next two albums – ‘Meteora’ (2003) and ‘Minutes to Midnight’ (2007) – went on to become number one on the Billboard 200 album chart. Linkin Park has sold more than 100 million albums worldwide and has won two Grammys.
Bennington became one of the most successful vocalists of all time and delivered several hits like ‘In the End’, ‘Numb’, ‘Crawling’, ‘One Step Closer’, ‘Breaking the Habit’, ‘Bleed It Out’, ‘The Catalyst’, ‘Waiting for the End’, ‘Iridescent’, ‘Lost in the Echo’ and more.
Despite being such a successful artist, the ‘Numb’ hitmaker struggled with depression and substance abuse. Although he overcame his drug addiction and would go on to denounce drug use in future interviews. The musician died on July 20, 2017 at his home in California, and the coroner ruled that he had died by suicide by hanging.
Even though he is not among us, but his music continues to live forever.
