'Ink Master: Turf War': No finale due to pandemic, disappointed fans pick Jimmy Snaz as winner
'Ink Master: Turf War' returned with a fast-paced, drama-filled episode, in which tattoo artists were pushed to their limits. It was a real test of patience and skill. The elimination round saw Kelly Severtson take the exit route, while Bob Jones securing the first spot in the finale. Which meant, Jerrel Larkins, Jimmy Snaz, and Angel Rose were automatically pushed to the 13-hour tattoo marathon. It was quite the task and a unique one for sure.
The remaining three artists were competing for the two spots left to be filled for the finale and were being tested on the quality and quantity of their designs. They had to be quick and also pack in as many tattoos as they could in 13 hours.
Tattooing requires focus and the eye is strained the most. As would turn out, Jimmy faced an eye issue. The paramedics were on standby and helped him out with eye drops. He wrapped up his last tattoo in 15 minutes flat. He was able to complete 13 tattoos and his designs were picked at least once by canvases who turned up for inking.
Angel, however, was stuck with her space dog design. Even though she started off unimpressive, by the end of her fifth space dog inking she got better and was able to get her linework and color saturation perfect. Judges thought it was a time-consuming design and yet, she was able to pull it off with clean linework. No prizes fr guessing, Angel won the second spot after Bob.
Jerrel did the most tattoos but he wasn't consistent, commented Oliver Peck and Dave Navarro. But Chris Nunez was the one rooting for him all along. "You have my support," he said. Previously, Chris had even pardoned Jerrel hoping he will shine through to the end. Unfortunately, his journey was cut short by this much.
However, the finale was canceled owing to the COVID-19 crisis. The top three won cash prizes and the network's YouTube channel will release a video showcasing their master canvas tattoos on April 15, Wednesday, 7 PM EST.
Meanwhile, fans are losing it over how there's no finale happening.
"#InkMaster Boy, that was a lightning-quick fizzle of no finale. Damn that covid-19," a viewer shared, while another wrote: "Could’ve had a virtual finale, could’ve postponed it... not fair to artists and fans #inkmaster."
"Shoot, no #inkmaster winner? I get it, but it's still sad. @Jimmysnaz1 deserved the title - kind, loyal, and incredibly positive. Truly a bright spot during this depressing quarantine. Thanks for brightening a dark time for all of us," another tweeted. "@Jimmysnaz1 even without a finale you’re still the winner in my heart #inkmaster," a viewer rooted.
