As we inch closer to the last episodes of 'In the Dark' on The CW, Murphy Mason (Perry Mattfeld) and Felix Bell (Morgan Krantz) are perhaps getting into a mess too deep for them to escape. In last week's episode, we saw them conspire with Nia Bailey's (Nicki Micheaux) rival, Josiah (Maurice Compte) to take her down. Murphy decided to turn over all of Nia's drugs to Josiah, including the new shipment.

However, we also see that Dean Riley (Rich Sommer) is getting closer to busting both Nia and Murphy; Nia because that's his get out of jail free card and Murphy just because he holds a grudge against her for recording his confession about killing Tyson. To that end, in the last episode, Dean freed Max Parrish (Casey Deidrick) from prison. Max was in there in the first place because of Dean and tries to manipulate Max into cooperating with him by making him believe that Murphy is in danger.

Max coming out of prison comes at an odd time for Murphy who has just slept with the IRS officer, Josh Wallace (Theodore Bhat). Even though it may seem like she did so because of the benefits of learning about his investigation into Nia, we think she genuinely has feelings for Josh. This, of course, makes things very awkward when Max comes to meet Murphy as soon as he is out of prison, albeit, with Dean and his partner, Gene Clemens (Matt Murray) listening through a wire. This week's episode will let us know just how much Dean will learn through Max and Murphy's conversation.

The promo for this week's episode shows us that Felix and Murphy are now trying to move the drugs from Guiding Hope with Max's help. However, with the cops and Nia's people after them, it's hardly likely to end well. We also see that Dean has snitched to Nia about Murphy conspiring with Josiah. Will Dean ever go back to being the likable cop we once knew? At this point, it's quite unlikely.

The synopsis for this week's episode states, "Murphy and Felix attempt to execute the plan to end their arrangement with Nia; finding himself in dire circumstances, Dean seeks the help of a former colleague."

'In the Dark' airs on The CW on Thursday nights at 9/8c. Watch the promo for this week's episode below:
