Ms Marvel fans by now know who Iman Vellani is. The actress did a fantastic job in 'Ms Marvel' and certainly gained a huge fanbase for herself across the world.

Recently, in an interview on 'Late Night with Seth Meyers', the 19-year-old talked about her experience of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU).

In addition to being one of the newest superheroes in the MCU series, Vellani is well known for being a fan of the series. When she was younger, she used her allowance to buy Marvel comics in addition to McDonald's. On being questioned about her first impressions of Ms Marvel, Vellani said, "In person? Like in the mirror? [laughs] No, it was crazy. She felt so different than all the other Muslim teenagers I was used to seeing in mainstream media. She was using her culture as something that guided her. And it wasn’t something she neglected at all. And on top of that, she was a huge fan. And the show is—the comics were never about being Muslim or being Pakistani. It was about this superhero-obsessed dork who just happens to be Muslim and Pakistani. And that’s how I felt in real life. And it was really comforting reading those comics."

The project has now been with Vellani for two years. The actress had access to plot details and secrets during that time, and which she certainly couldn't reveal. At least until now, as Ms Marvel's six-episode run ended on July 13.

The fact that Vellani "can breathe" makes it feel so good, in her words. She said, "I’m not present on social media publicly, but I do have like a lot of private accounts. Especially on Reddit. I'm just arguing with people about theories. I’m like, ‘you don’t even know what’s coming, man. Like, you’re so wrong.’ It’s so liberating."

While a second season of Ms Marvel hasn’t been announced, Vellani will reprise her role in 'The Marvels', starring alongside Brie Larson and Teyonah Parris. The superhero movie set to be released on July 28, 2023. Go ahead and watch the whole first season of 'Ms Marvel' on Disney+ and the full interview with Seth Meyers right here!
