Greta Thunberg is no stranger to the world of environmental activism. The young activist has received numerous honors and awards, including a fellowship at the Royal Scottish Geographical Society, as well as a nomination for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize. Hulu's upcoming documentary on the young activist titled 'I Am Greta' is all set to arrive on the streaming site later this year.
The teenage climate activist soon became a household name following her very first protest outside Sweden's parliament building in 2018. In no time, she started a school protest, which eventually led to an international sensation. She inspired millions of people around the world across parameters to stand up to the environmental crisis ailing the planet. She has also earned support and praise from Michelle Obama and actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Woody Harrelson.
The 17-year-old young activist found out about climate change when she was 8-years-old. She also told Time that after she finding out about climate change, she thought, "That can't be happening because if that were happening, then the politicians would be taking care of it."
She is well known for speaking at the UN Climate Action Summit and the COP25 Climate Change Conference in Madrid. "How dare you. I shouldn't be up here. I should be back in school on the other side of the ocean, yet you all come to us young people for hope. How dare you? You have stolen my dreams and my childhood with your empty words. We will be watching you," she said.

Plot
According to the official synopsis by Hulu, 'I Am Greta' follows "young activist Greta Thunberg, a 15-year-old student in Sweden, started a school strike for the climate as her question for adults was, 'if you don't care about my future on earth, why should I care about my future in school?' Within months, her strike evolved into a global movement as the quiet teenage girl on the autism spectrum becomes a world-famous activist. The documentary follows Greta's heroism and passion in fighting for climate change."
Creators
The documentary is produced by Cecilia Nessen and Frederik Heinig via B-Reel Films and directed by Nathan Grossman. According to reports, the team behind 'I Am Greta' has been following Thunberg from her early school strike in Stockholm all the way to parliaments and massive international protests, documenting her mission to make the world understand the urgency of the climate crisis.
