Netflix's reality show 'The Big Day' gives us a peek into all the planning that goes behind making the "big fat Indian wedding" happen. Each season features six couples, who will be shown planning their big day and at the end of the episode, we get to watch how all their plans panned out. After the success of the first season, the second season aptly titled 'The Big Day: Collection 2' is all set to premiere soon.

How did Shrutika and Lakshya meet?
Although Shrutika and Lakshya had several mutual friends, the couple reportedly never crossed paths until November 2017. In an interview with Vogue, the bride revealed that they met each other for the first time at a friend's wedding in Langkawi, Malaysia. She said, "Lakshya played cupid to his best friend and his neighbor, who happens to be one of my closest friends from school. We interacted for the first time on their sangeet night. Since then, we were inseparable for the next three days.”
Although they had a great time together, Lakshya's 'player' reputation had Shrutika convinced that their relationship might not last for too long. But she was pleasantly surprised when he asked her out on a date after they returned to their hometown, Mumbai. "We met almost every day after that, and the rest is history," she shared. After dating for nearly a year, Lakshya proposed to her in September 2018, and they threw an extravagant engagement party in December 2018 in Mumbai.

Both Shrutika and Lakshya had their heart set on having a huge celebration to mark their big day. So after some location scouting, they finally zeroed in on Four Seasons Hotel Bahrain Bay. Shrutika explained, "From the moment we stepped into the lobby of the hotel, we both knew this was it. The hospitality, the food, the staff, and the exclusivity was check, check."
The three-day celebration of the couple's big day was a beautiful fusion of traditional customs and modern elements. From an intimate mehendi party for the bridal party to a Salvadore Dali-themed reception, and the couple reading vows to each other, every last detail of their wedding celebration was carefully planned and executed.
