How old is Song Ji Hyuk? Love confession tanks after Love Like a K-Drama's Ayano Kudo calls Song Ji Hyuk 'older brother'
SEOUL, SOUTH KOREA: Song Ji Hyuk, who is 37 years old, took matters into his own hands when he decided to confess his love for Ayano Kudo, 27.
However, things bombed for the 'Love Like a K-Drama' star rather tragically when the Japanese actress addressed him as "oppa," which stands for older brother in Korean.
On the line of rehearsals for Episode 6 of the Netflix reality series, Ji Hyuk joined Ayano and Lee Tae Gyun at the beach.
After letting Ayano grab a coffee with her crush, Tae Gyun, Ji Hyuk decided to confess his feelings for her.
Ji Hyuk asked Ayano if she was surprised that he chose her for the audition, which turned out to be true. He also noted, "We had such a good time together. We really hit it off and connected. We laughed so much."
He continued, "And that's when I started falling for you."
After thanking Ji Hyuk, the Japanese actress noted, "But you're like an Oppa to me. Like a big brother who supports me and has my back. The guy who makes everyone feel comfortable and relaxed on set. A nice guy. That's also how I think of you. Like a good, reliable older brother, I can trust."
Subsequently, Ayano moved on to rehearsing with Tae Gyun.
Lee Tae Gyun considers oldest 'Love Like a K-Drama' Korean star Song Ji Hyuk 'serious rival'
Tae Gyun was taken aback when Ayano was paired with both him and Ji Hyuk for the third audition. He said in a confessional, "I know that Ji Hyuk is a serious rival, but I'm letting everyone know, I'm not just gonna let him take her."
Meanwhile, Ji Hyuk revealed, "This time, the rules said we were allowed to choose freely, and I'm really happy about that."
He knows it may not be fair to the others because he's older than them. Moroever, he wanted to tell Ayano exactly how he felt about her, only to later get "brother-zoned" by her.
At the beach, Tae Gyun wasn't stoked by Ji Hyuk's presence during his time with Ayano and confessed that he was a little jealous.
He mentioned, "She said we were going to the beach, just the two of us, but then all three of us ended up going." Things worked out for him as he ultimately got his time alone with Ayano by asking her for coffee.
Judges claim Ayano Kudo and Lee Tae Gyun had the best connection in 'Love Like a K-Drama' audition
During the auditions for Episode 5, Ayano was really getting pampered by both her suitors, and she ended up kissing Tae Gyun for real during their audition.
Even though Nozomi Bando and Kim Dong Kyu ultimately landed the leading roles in Episode 5, judges found that Ayano and Tae Gyun share the best chemistry among all.
They felt, "Both Ayano and Rio [Yamashita] looked too comfortable handling the young men. But they lacked a certain sense of innocence. It felt too mature. They handled the guys like professionals."
Notably, the main character was supposed to be innocent and naive, which Ayano lacked in her audition.
Song Ji Hyuk wanted to collaborate in a scene with Rio Yamashita
Ji Hyuk had previously voiced dismay when Tae Gyun indicated that he would want to collaborate with Rio on a scene. Speaking to her in Japanese, he attempted to persuade her that Tokyo-sourced coffee is the best.
Episodes 1–9 of 'Love Like a K-Drama' are currently streaming on Netflix, with new episodes coming out every Tuesday.
