How many Spider-Man variants are there? ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ to feature a large number of Spider-People
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The concept of timelines, multiverses, dimensions, and everything in that realm has been toyed with quite a lot in Marvel recently. Now ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ is set to take that up a few notches, even in comparison to 2018’s ‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse.’ Thanks to animation and Sony, this upcoming superhero movie can really do wonders with the concept of variants, and that’s exactly what it has set out to do. For all the comic fans, ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ is going to be a treat!
‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ is set to have endless variants of Spider-Man, who are referred to briefly as ‘Spider-People’ in the official trailer. The importance of each of these variants remains a mystery, although, they are set to bring a lot of comedy, action, and brotherly love in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.’

How many variants are there?
‘Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse’ has already introduced a few Spider-Man variants, but things are about to get a lot crazier in ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.’ In an interview with Collider, Justin Thompson, the co-director, was asked the number of variants that will appear in the movie, to which he responded, “I think it was about 280 the last time I looked in. Just to be clear, that doesn't mean specific, unique characters that you might recognize, it might mean variations as well. But if you're just talking about named characters, then I think there's probably about 95." That’s a whole lot of variants! If anyone can come out of the movie remembering 95 characters, they must win a prize of some kind!
The Variants
While we cannot name 95, let alone 280 variants of ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse’ right away, there are a few that have definitely stood out. Hardcore Marvel or Spider-Man fans might recognize these names, while others can get accustomed to them. Some of these variants include Spider-Cat, Web-Slinger, Julia Carpenter, Spider-Punk, Cyborg Spider-Man, Anti-Kingpin, Spider-Cop, Spiderling, Lady Spider, Spidercide, Captain Spider, Spider-Wolf, White Widow, Spider-Monkey and Impossible Spider-Man to name a few. Yes, these are only a few. There’s no doubt that fans will be spending their entire time spotting all the variants while watching ‘Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.’
