LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: We are just a few hours away from the new episode of ‘The Last of Us’ and yes, this week’s episode will be premiering early on HBO and HBO Max to avoid the competition with the Super Bowl LVII. The upcoming episode is undoubtedly one of the most anticipated ones because we saw a new villain emerging in the previous episode in the form of ‘The Hunters’. More importantly, something is lurking inside the ground and is eager to wreak havoc by coming out into the real world.

On the other hand, Joel and Ellie are being watched and things might get even more intense for them in the upcoming episode. The last week’s episode was way shorter than the first and third episodes of the series which felt like feature-length films. But it seems viewers are once again going to see a jumbo episode this week and we couldn’t be happier in knowing that we’ll get more action.

What is the runtime of ‘The Last of Us’ Episode 5?

Episode 5 of ‘The Last of Us’, titled ‘Endure and Survive’, will be released this Friday, at 9 pm EST, on HBO and HBO Max. According to the schedule on HBO’s official website, the fifth episode has a runtime of 61 minutes, meaning 11 minutes of more content as compared to last week’s episode. The episode seems to be filled with a lot of violence and adult content because the warning label for the episode says, “adult language, adult content, and violence.”

What to expect from ‘The Last of Us’ Episode 5?

The promo of ‘Endure and Survive’ suggests that Joel and Ellie’s journey is going to be more dangerous now and they might get caught by ‘The Hunters’ because they have killed two of their members. It will also give viewers a glimpse of how ‘The Hunters’ took over the city of Kansas and are now ruling it with its leader Kathleen (Melanie Lynskey) setting all the rules. However, things will get more dangerous for everyone as the creature lurking inside the ground will come out and it’s none other than a Bloater. They are strong, and not easy to kill because of the strong shell they have on their bodies.

All in all, ‘The Hunters’ and Joel, along with Ellie, would have to work together in order to neutralize the great threat.

It’s going to be one helluva ride.
