What happened to Kimmi Scott?
In the last season of 'Love & Marriage: Huntsville,' Kimmi Scott was facing the most difficult battle of her life. Kimmi was diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer, stage two, on the November 12 episode of 'Love & Marriage: Huntsville,' which broadcast in 2022.
Kimmi chose to follow her oncologist's advice and cut her hair short to avoid the traumatic process of losing her hair to chemotherapy. Maurice, Kimmi's spouse, and her closest friend stood by her side as her hairstylist started to cut her long tresses. Maurice then reached for his shears to complete his wife's new hairstyle.
The moving incident led many admirers to take to social media to express their support for Kimmi during this trying time. Some viewers, however, were more concerned with whether Kimmi's hair was real or not.
How is Kimmi Scott now?
Kimmi's courageous and harrowing cancer trek took up a large part of the second half of last season. Season 5 of 'Love & Marriage: Huntsville' saw LaTisha and Marsau Scott dine with Kimmi and Maurice Scott and Martell and Melody Holt. There was some tension between Martell and Melody at the dinner table. During the episode, Martell stated that if he and Melody were still together, it would have been their 14th wedding anniversary. In 2021, their divorce was finalized.
At the dinner, however, there were more significant topics to talk about than Martell and Mel's relationship. Kimmi informed the group that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer and would be starting treatments soon. Kimmi announced on Instagram in December 2022 that she had completed her cancer treatment.
Fans can breathe easy as the Season 6 trailer begins with Kimmi once again addressing the group. "We went to the doctor Friday," she says. "They don't see anything (guessing cancer cells) doctor said." Hopefully, she'll have some positive health news to share with viewers in the new season.
New episodes of 'Love & Marriage: Huntsville' will premiere on OWN on Saturday, April 8, at 8 pm ET/PT.
