'Silo' Season 3 trailer teases journey to past and drops release date of the Rebecca Ferguson-starrer
Juliette Nichols is back as 'Silo' Season 3's first trailer also revealed the premiere date. The hit Apple TV+ sci-fi drama starring Rebecca Ferguson is based on the book series of the same name by Hugh Howey. The series follows a dystopian society in which 10,000 people live underground after the world above is ravaged by toxic conditions. The second season ended with Nichols and Bernard Holland (Tim Robbins) trapped in an incinerator as they get closer to the truth behind the silo experiment. The streamer dropped the trailer for the new season, which hints at a continuation of Season 2's events.
In the trailer, she is seen experiencing memory loss, and also teases an origin story. The Graham Yost-created series premieres Friday, July 3, with new episodes dropping weekly. The 10-episode season will conclude on September 4. The clip sees a close-up of Ferguson before the voiceover confirms a flashback. "Before we can know why we're here, before we can know why everything is as it is, before we can know how it all will end, we need to understand how it all began." This VO is interspersed with clips from the past and high-octane action sequences. The trailer ends with the wastelands above shifting to a greener environment (possibly from the past). Speculations are rife that the new season reveals how the silos were created. The teaser gives away little, setting the tone for what promises to be a humdinger penultimate season.
Returning alongside Ferguson and Ronnins are Common, Harriet Walter, Avi Nash, Chinaza Uche, Shane McRae, Alexandria Riley, Rick Gomez, Remmie Milner, Clare Perkins, and Billy Postlethwaite. New cast members this season include Ashley Zukerman, Jessica Henwick, Jessica Brown Findlay, Laura Innes, Reed Birney, Morven Christie, Matt Craven, Colin Hanks, and Steve Zahn. In related news, Ferguson also spoke about her emotional experience as the already-confirmed Season 4 wrapped filming.
Speaking to Collider last month, "Friday is my last day. I'm emotionally grieving, and I don't talk about it because I'll probably break down crying. I’m pushing it down," the 'Dune' star said. 'Silo' and 'Dune 3' mark her upcoming major projects. Ferguson was last seen in the crime thriller 'Mercy' alongside Chris Pratt. She plays an AI judge who makes the final decision on those found guilty of committing a crime. As for 'Silo', fans can catch Seasons 1 and 2 on Apple TV+.
