How did Ashley 'Minnie' Ross die? The tragedy of car crash that took 'Little Women: Atlanta' star's life haunts fans
Before you set your eyes on 'Little Women: Atlanta' Season 6, catch a special episode scheduled to air on Friday, January 22, 2021, on the network where the cast will look back at the past five seasons.
The episode will also showcase a difficult segment where all of the ladies, along with the host Terra Jole, will relive the horrific memories of their beloved castmate and friend Ashley 'Minnie' Ross, who died in April 2020. Featuring the cast Tiny Twinz Amanda and Andrea Salinas, Abira Greene, Shirlene 'Ms Juicy' King Pearson, and Tiffany 'Monie' Cashette, the 90-minute special may make you reach out for tissue boxes.
The series revolved around these women who are hustling to find their footing in Atlanta's competitive hip hop scene while also juggling their personal and interpersonal relationships, career challenges, health issues, and all of the troubles that they face on a day-to-day basis, while living in a world that caters to average-sized people.
In a teaser for the upcoming season, the cast is seen discussing how it's going to be not having Minnie around anymore.
“Have you thought about how it’s going to be without Minnie now?” Monie asks Juicy. The pair then hug each other as they cry, according to a Cheat Sheet report. “Our friendship meant a lot to me because we started in the fire, but we walked through it together,” says Abira.
How did Ashley 'Minnie' Ross die?
A tragic car crash took Ashley's life. Minnie died after losing control of her car after which she collided with a vehicle in the opposite lane. TMZ reported that Minnie was traveling on one side of the highway causing her to jerk the steering wheel right according to an eyewitness. Police said that she briefly went off-road before abruptly swinging back to the left and colliding with another vehicle in the opposite lane.
The reality star was deemed responsible for the crash. Minnie was unresponsive at the scene and later pronounced dead. The other driver went to the hospital with complaints of pain. Her funeral had only a few close family members because of COVID-19 restrictions. The only members of the 'LW' cast that were allowed at the funeral were the Tiny Twinz. They were the closest to Minnie and she was also the godmother of Andrea's middle child, Aubrey.
After her death, Lifetime paid a tribute to her and wrote, "Lifetime and the Little Women Family are deeply saddened to hear the tragic news of the sudden passing of Ashley Ross, our beloved “Ms Minnie”. Our heartfelt condolences go out to her family and friends. Ms Minnie was an amazing talent and a special part of 'Little Women: Atlanta'. She will be dearly missed."
