'House Of Payne' Season 9 Episode 19: Tyler Perry slammed for 'disgraceful writing' as fans bash women's roles

Fans are unhappy with the way women characters have been written on the show

In the latest episode of 'House Of Payne', Jazmine (China Anne McClaine) tells her boyfriend Kaleb that she doesn't want to have sex, but he seems to be in no mood to listen. In fact, he even watches and waits for her to be alone so he can turn up at her house. She is firm with her stand, but he keeps demanding, and even says that they could have sex in Curtis's (LaVan Davis) and Ella's (Cassi Davis Patton) bedroom. Luckily for Jazmine, Calvin (Lance Gross) returns home as he is looking for his keys. Jazmine desperately tries to get him out of the house, but he notices Kaleb hiding under the table. The episode ends on a cliffhanger.

Why is Jazmine lying for Kaleb, when the man deserves to almost be imprisoned, that's the question fans are asking. Some are rather angry with the way women characters have been written on the show, as Miranda (Keshia Knight Pulliam) seemed insistent on having Calvin back and even Ella's behavior with the annoying Curtis.

"The way that Tyler has written Jazzie, Miranda and even Ella is a f****** disgrace! Jazzie lying for Caleb, Miranda running behind Calvin, and Ella’s okay with Curtis’s disrespect. This s*it is embarrassing!! #HouseOfPayne," a fan tweeted.

We still don't know what became of the Calvin-Miranda storyline, because the last we checked, he seemed to have moved on for good with Laura. Miranda even walked in on them kissing. Where IS Miranda? Has she moved on as well too? There are many loose threads that still need to be wrapped up.

Regarding Ella, fans have been slamming Curtis since the beginning of Season 9 for being so obnoxious to her. Ella, who is normally the more sensible one, gives into Curtis's demands all the time and even looks for a justification for why she does so.

"I don’t see this reboot coming back for another season. Tyler needs to come correct," a fan wrote.

Well, there's no confirmation of a Season 10 yet, but if there is, hopefully, the women get better arcs, rather than being made to look like the victim.

'House Of Payne' airs on BET, Wednesdays at 8 pm.
