Spoilers for 'Hospital Playlist' Episode 2

'Hospital Playlist' Episode 2 begins by portraying the ordeals that doctors at a hospital in Seoul face, especially residents who word under experienced senior doctors.

How they take the blame for their mistakes as well as their seniors' is the main theme of the episode. They change their surgery schedules, their personal schedules and everything they can to impress their senior doctors.

The doctors get mistreated by patients who are in pain as well so to say that they are under extreme pressure would be an understatement. The worst of all of this for the junior doctors is to watch senior doctors who have no experience in performing certain surgeries taking lead just because they are seniors.

To watch them as the chances of a patient's survival drops down is a horrible way to learn the skills of being a surgeon and 'Hospital Playlist' sees five friends, who are doctors of different practices in a hospital navigate the highs and lows.

The episode sees — Lee Ik-jun,  Ahn Jeong-won, Kim Jun-wan, Yeong Seok-hyeong, and Chae Song-hwa — face different struggles at the hospital.

Song-hwa is the neurologist who finds out that her best friend from school has breast cancer and she would have to be operated on while she is forced to play hospital politics as well.

Then we have Jeong-won, the pediatrician, who struggles to work with a doctor who initially comes across as insensitive to patients' guardians and the two try to keep their personal grievances aside and work on the patients.

While they are going through such difficulties, their friends, Jun-wan, Seok-hyeong and Ik-jun keep us entertained with their entertaining antics.

Jun-wan's need to get everything about treating his patients right results in him losing his temper with junior residents, oftentimes in the presence of the patient. His anger is so potent that it makes the patient anxious.

Then there is Ik-jun, who has from the beginning been portrayed as a genius doctor, but his humor keeps his work light. He begins to randomly dance around people, discuss his prostate problems with his friend's mother among other things have us laughing out loud.

So far, what has become clear from the show is that it is not your regular medical procedural. It is more about five friends and how they go about their lives as doctors. Their friendship from when they went to pre-med school together. Their love lives, the trauma that they have faced in life among other things.

Each episode also takes us back in time, momentarily, to show how different the dynamics between these friends are.  For instance, it is revealed that Song-hwa received a confession of love from Seok-hyeong in the past, but when she didn't reciprocate his feelings, the two moved on as friends and continued to stay close as well.

The show's highlights are usually the tiny peek into the past and we cannot wait to see more of this.

'Hospital Playlist' news episodes can be streamed on Netflix on Thursdays.
