Popular home renovators Dave and Jenny Marrs are all set to renovate Casey and Greg Luka’s home that was built in 1967. The house is spread over 1,876 sqft and has three bedrooms and two bathrooms.

Jenny wrote on her Instagram handle, “An all new episode of #fixertofab tonight at 9|8c on HGTV! Tonight, we remodel a home for a family who moved here from Kentucky. We tried to incorporate a little bit of their hometown of Louisville into their Bentonville home and, clearly, this called for a Derby race to kick off their renovation!”

Casey and Greg have been married for 17 years and have two children together. They want to foster kids but the layout of their house doesn’t allow them to do that. Enter Dave and Jenny whose favorite thing to do is to tear down some walls and create beautiful designs. Jenny was excited to hear that the Luka family wasn’t afraid of colors and she was ready for her creativity to flow. Casey told Jenny she liked the traditional and classic vibe and Jenny also wanted to incorporate some Kentucky (the family’s origin) aesthetics to their home.

They painted the outside wall in blue and white with a gray roof. The outside porch that was closed before was torn down and turned into an open front porch. Inside they made a fireplace and kept the brick raw and unpainted for a rugged finish. They incorporated a wooden mantle which was from the Marrs' store room that they couldn’t use in their own house. They put a painting of a horse portrait over it for that Kentucky touch.

They gave them a classic white kitchen with a hardwood island that Dave built with his own hands and he insisted they can do all sorts of hard pounding on it since it was so tough. He also put a wooden criss-cross on its side for that farm aesthetic. In the laundry room, Jenny decided to make it big enough for the entire family and also for the future foster kids. They put high-school inspired lockers in the room where they can store away their laundry stuff such as detergent. Jenny also put a family photo in the laundry room.

The garage that was of no use for the family was renovated into a living space with lots of horse portraits for that Kentucky influence.
