When 'Real Housewives of Salt Lake City' was first announced, Bravo fans were curious to learn more about the Utah housewives and explore the Mormon culture. Thanks to the interesting mix and diversity amongst the cast's religious beliefs, the newest 'Real Housewives' franchise managed to grab everybody's eyeballs, and Heather Gay became an overnight fan-favorite housewife.

Heather, who originally hailed from a 'Mormon royalty' family, made the tough decision of stepping away from her faith following her divorce. The housewife's decision proved to be a major turning point in her life, as she soon found herself feeling ostracized by not just the Mormon community but also her immediate family members including her parents and siblings. So, when Heather opened up about her struggles in accepting this new change in her life and reminiscing about her former life when she was a good Mormon, fans were intrigued. However, when Heather continued to make her being a 'bad Mormon' her storyline for the show's season 2 as well, fans began slowly growing tired and bored of it.

A fan tweeted, "Heather if I hear anymore about you being an ex Mormon I’m going to scream !!! #RHOSLC." Another fan wrote, "Mormon church can y’all please forgive Heather and welcome her back. Please!!! We tired! #RHOSLC." "Heather’s bad Mormon cult storyline is old and played out. She doesn’t have anything else to give. I don’t want anymore of it #RHOSLC," commented a fan.
