'Succession' Season 2 Episode 7 promo reveals more calamity for Roys as stocks plummet and media get wind of Ken's accident

Media reports have emerged about the accident Kendall was in at the end of season 1. The very accident Logan had promised to take care of, for Kendall, in exchange for giving up on the acquisition Ken had planned, to bring down his father

In 'Succession' Season 2, we saw Logan Roy (Brian Cox) lose out on one of the biggest acquisitions Waystar Royco could have made by buying out PGM, another family-owned media business. It was just in his grasp and he missed it by mere centimeters after a controversial story regarding one of Waystar's employees got published by the media.

While the family, including Shiv (Sarah Snook), Kendall (Jeremy Strong) and Roman (Kieran Culkin) did try damage control through a panel the Roys were invited to, all they did do was show the audience the divide amid the family itself and Shiv went as far as to use the stage as a step up the ladder of success to become heir of Waystar Royco.

Nan Pierce (Cherry Jones), who is the head of the family in talks with Logan regarding the acquisition, is not too happy with the kind of press Waystar is getting so close to signing the deal and when she finds out Rhea Jarrell (Holly Hunter) has been taking meetings with the Roy without informing her, she backpedals out of the deal real quick.

The upcoming episode 7, will portray the consequences of this failed deal according to the promo released by HBO September 16. It starts with Logan being told that since they lost the PGM acquisition, a major part of the shares are seeing unstable drops and this will affect Waystar Royco in a big way.

The Roys are now desperate because it looks like another controversy hits the Roys just when they are down. This could hurt the chances of Waystar pulling through the deep waters it has fallen into recently because media reports have emerged about the accident Kendall was in at the end of season 1.

The very accident that Logan had promised to take care of, for Kendall, in exchange for giving up on the acquisition Ken had planned, to bring down his father. It looks like the media is going with the angle that the Roy in question had punched the driver while on road, leading to an accident that took the car off the road and into a lake.

Ken escaped but he did not save the driver in the car and this could become problematic, especially in light of current events. The fact that the media reports are running with Logan's photo along with pictures of the car that met with an accident also suggest the media is not entirely aware of what really happened that night and might be shooting in the dark hoping to hit a target.

In the face of all of this, we agree with Gerri (J. Smith-Cameron) that maybe now it is time for the Roys to worry after all. So far, when they decided to fight instead of selling out they survived by playing a game of wits, something Logan excels at, but this time, he may not win.

As a last resort, we see Logan reach out to his second wife, Caroline Collingwood, who is also Ken, Shiv and Roman's mother to find a way out by getting access to her shares, but it might not work. That, however, doesn't mean he is going to give up as he says, he has never run away from anything and this time is no different.

'Succession' Season 2 Episode 7 will air Sunday at 9 p.m. ET on HBO.
