LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: This is the award season and all the creators and actors wait with bated breath to be rewarded at this time. However, the black comedy-drama anthology television series created by Mike White for HBO returned with its second season which blew the audience's mind. So, the PGA’s top TV drama award, the Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, went to HBO’s 'The White Lotus,' a nominee last year when it was categorized as an anthology series.

The 34th Producers Guild of America Awards is honoring the best film and television producers of 2022 and was being held at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California on February 25, 2023. Another HBO show scored when 'Last Week Tonight with John Oliver' won for the eighth year in a row, this time in the guild’s expanded Live Entertainment, Variety, Sketch, Standup & Talk Television category.

'White Lotus' Season 2 bags PGA’s top TV drama award

Up until now, the second season of 'White Lotus' won Golden Globe Awards for Best Limited or Anthology Series and Best Supporting Actress for Coolidge and now, they have bagged one more award at the PGA Awards. The PGA’s top TV drama award, the Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, went to HBO’s 'The White Lotus'.

The night’s first award, for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures, has already gone to 'Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio' from Netflix. Last year’s winner in the category, Disney’s 'Encanto,' went on to take the Oscar in the Animated Feature race. Other winners tonight include 'Navalny,' the BAFTA and Cinema Eye winner already this season, bolstering its Oscar bona fides by taking the Outstanding Producer of Documentary Motion Picture trophy, while Prime Video’s 'Lizzo’s Watch Out for the Big Grrls' repeated its Emmy win in guild’s Outstanding Producer of Game & Competition Television race.

What is next for 'White Lotus'?

Intended as a six-part limited series, 'The White Lotus' premiered first on July 11, 2021, to critical acclaim and high ratings. The show's success led to HBO renewing it as an anthology series and for a second season, which premiered on October 30, 2022. In November 2022, the series was renewed for a third season.

You can watch the first two seasons of 'White Lotus' on Disney+ or HBO Max.
