'Happy Ending Outside The Fence': Is Leo the second VIXX star to join BL? Fans impressed

Fans are theorizing as the K-pop idol gave a sneak-peek of his next project on Instagram

While the LGBT+ community were disappointed that gay characters were mocked in K-dramas, conservative South Korea is gradually seeing a change. More and more K-pop idols and popular actors are taking up LGBT+ friendly acting projects and it seems that VIXX’s Leo is the next idol actor to star in the BL (Boy Love) K-drama, ‘Happy Ending Outside The Fence'.

Apart from homosexuality still being taboo in South Korea, the existence of obsessive and toxic K-pop fans have agencies schooling their artists to take safe and non-controversial acting projects. However, that is changing as we have had the likes of B.A.P’s Youngjae, A.C.E’s Jun, SF9’s Rowoon, SHINee’s Minho and more playing LGBT+ characters. The first openly gay K-pop idol Holland is branching out as his first acting credit will be in the BL K-drama ‘Ocean Likes Me’.

Is Leo the 2nd VIXX member to act in a BL

Well, on February 28, VIXX’s Leo shared a sneak-peek of a script on his Instagram story that has fans wondering if it is for the BL K-drama ‘Happy Ending Outside The Fence’. With the casting taking place in December 2021, the drama will be produced by Idol Romance. And while Leo’s participation is not confirmed, from his Instagram story, viewers can see the words ‘Fence’ and ‘Happy’ which has fans excited. If the casting does turn out to be true, Leo will be the second VIXX member to be cast in a BL.

Previously, VIXX’s Hyuk was roped in to play the lead in the second season of the popular BL drama ‘Color Rush’. Leo had also caused quite a bit of chaos on K-pop Twitter when he posted a photo of him embracing EXO’s Xiumin. He later clarified that they were close enough to hug and pat each other. And so, with Leo being comfortable with his masculinity, it has fans excited to see him in a BL.

Update: It has been confirmed that Leo will indeed be playing one of the leads in 'Happy Ending Outside The Fence'. He has been cast in the role of scriptwriter Kim Jung Hyun, a man with a secret.

'Trendsetters'

VIXX has been trending since Leo posted the Instagram story as fans made tweets like, “I am sorry, but if this man, Leo from VIXX, was to actually play in a BL, no one will survive. NO ONE. pls i need a confirmation on whether him playing in Happy Ending Outside The Fence is true or not.” Another fan posted, “It's so funny to me how everyone's always like "vixx WHO" and then a vixx mmbr gets casted in a bl and there they go saying "wow a famous idol in a bl??" like glad u finally realized who vixx are.” With Jaehwan always trying to evade questions about VIXX’s sexuality one fan joked, “Waiting for the ‘Jaehwan after seeing another gay thing in vixx happen’ tweets again skdbdkdn.”

One Starlight added, “Vixx really said that their next Concept is BL.” Another commented, “Two bl actors in one group vixx ur doing amazing sweetie.” One fan said, “Another VIXX member doing BL? That "another vixx member" made me laugh.” Another Starlight shared, “The fact that i find VIXX so sexy bc they seem so secure with their sexualities to dive headfirst into acting in BLs one by one....
