It hasn't been a great time for Tom Koracick (Greg Germann). Well, most of 'Grey's Anatomy' characters are doomed to lives of misery, but it seems like Tom has been served an extra helping (we're not counting Meredith, of course). On the surface, Tom is snarky and abrasive and fans took an instant dislike to him when he appeared on the show just a couple of seasons ago. Though he was a support to Amelia (Caterina Scorsone) during her brain tumor, his annoying behavior hasn't changed much and in fact, was aggravated when he and Teddy Altman (Kim Raver) broke up. In Season 16, Teddy's character went through a drastic makeover, because she decided to have an affair with Tom while promising to get married to Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd).

Teddy even had goodbye sex with Tom (that was heard all over the OR). Well, Owen heard it and obviously, called off his wedding with Teddy. Tom is now a broken man and was seen beating stuff wildly in the first episode itself. As icing on this misery fest, he has been diagnosed with coronavirus too.

Now, considering it's 'Grey's Anatomy', this could go several ways. Most likely, Tom could recover, or he could die and be written out of the show altogether, like many other characters. The diagnosis leads to several questions, is Tom leaving the show, or will he be the one to die instead of Meredith Grey? Unless, the showrunners decide to keep him on and give him a happy ending. Ha, no, this is 'Grey's Anatomy', no one gets a happy ending. This is all just speculation and theories because if Tom does stay on at Grey-Sloane, he needs a better story arc for sure.

The synopsis for the next episode reads, "Owen faces a medical diagnosis that challenges more than he imagined; Koracick begins to go stir crazy; Maggie gets a not-so-subtle glimpse into Winston's background."

Yup, the synopsis promises hell for Koracick. Poor guy, really can't catch much of a break.

Meanwhile, there's much speculation on whom Meredith might see in her limbo-like state in the upcoming episode. We saw Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey), and there's much hope that we see Lexie (Chyler Leigh) or even George (TR Knight) for that matter.

'Grey's Anatomy' airs on ABC, Thursdays at 9 pm.
