'Grey's Anatomy' Season 17 Episode 3 Preview: Will Derek and Meredith's limbo kiss save her from dying?
'Grey's Anatomy' Season 17 began with a bang, as we saw the return of Meredith's husband Derek Shepherd (Patrick Dempsey). Meredith is dying, presumably of Covid-19, and she's in limbo. For hardcore fans of GA, this usually means that she ends up seeing Derek. Most of us still haven't recovered since Derek's death in Season 11.
He had a car crash and was taken to a clinic that wasn't ready for trauma. It was a callous way to say goodbye to one of the best neurosurgeons in the world. He died and Meredith took a long time to piece herself back together. After hits and misses, she finally moved on with Andrew DeLuca, the only person she has said "I love you too" after Derek.
The reappearance of Derek came as a shock as fans weren't prepared since Dempsey had left the note on a rather unceremonious exit. Of course, for true MerDer fans, no scene with them qualifies unless we get a kiss or a hug. And that's exactly what fans are demanding.

In an interview to EOnline, Dempsey opened up on how long he would be there in the season. "I'm not sure how many. I know I'm throughout this season. He comes back to visit," he said. Nothing would make fans happier... unless Meredith is dying throughout the season. 'Grey's Anatomy' airs on Thursdays at 9 pm on ABC.
