'Grey's Anatomy' Season 17 Episode 1: Jo sobs during sex with Jackson, fans get 'George and Meredith vibes'

Jo's husband, Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), left her for his ex-wife Izzie, and since then, Jo has been trying to piece herself back together

There have been several terrible couples and hook-ups on 'Grey's Anatomy', one of them being George O' Malley (TR Knight) and Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), as well as George and Izzie (Katherine Heigl). In the latest episode of the medical drama, fans got an uneasy flashback to George and Meredith having sex, when Jo (Camilla Luddington) and Jackson (Jesse Williams) tried the same. Jo's husband, Alex Karev (Justin Chambers), left her for his ex-wife Izzie, and since then, Jo has been trying to piece herself back together. And so, she tried asking Jackson for a sexual favour. However, she started crying in the middle of it, incidentally which is the same thing Meredith did with George back in Season 2.

Jackson has been shunted from woman to woman lately, losing all signs of character development. Apart from hating on Jo and Jackson as a couple, others say that it was just like George and Meredith again. "Jo and Jackson is new Meredith and George #GreysAnatomy@GreysABC," a fan wrote.

"Yo, Jo is doing a full on Meredith/George thing," a fan wrote.

"JO crying while kissing Jackson is giving me Meredith and George vibes #GreysAnatomy," another wrote.

This season of 'Grey's Anatomy' is pandemic-centric as the doctors struggle to deal with the outbreak and their personal lives. Meanwhile, Meredith has to deal with her fractured relationship with Andrew DeLuca, who is battling bipolar disorder. There's another love triangle on the way for Meredith, as the handsome Cormac Hayes (Richard Flood) is in the wings. There is a possibility that the two might get together, and showrunner Krista Vernoff has warned that it might just happen. Meredith is no stranger to love triangles and has consistently found herself in one, ever since the show began, sixteen years ago. There are other relationships failing, for example Owen Hunt (Kevin McKidd) and Teddy (Kim Raver), for starters, who still can't seem to look each other in the eye, as Teddy slept with Tom Koracick,....several times.

'Grey's Anatomy' airs on Thursdays on ABC at 9 pm.
