'Grey's Anatomy' Season 16: Meredith Grey is on a new mission and it has nothing to do with Grey Sloan Hospital

The first episode of Season 16 hinted at how Meredith Grey might lose her license. Episode two, however, shows her on an entirely different mission.

Ellen Pompeo's beloved character Meredith Grey is the main attraction in 'Grey's Anatomy' and fans have been quite disappointed after she was fired from the Grey Sloan Hospital.

The first episode of season 16 hinted at how she might lose her license. However, fans are not ready to see that happen.

"I doubt she will lose her license considering at the beginning of season 15 they stated they were doing at least two more seasons of Greys. What's 'Grey's Anatomy' without Meredith Grey," one user wrote on Twitter.

Well, it seems that might be true. The second episode begins with Meredith reading out a text message to Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti) that says her next hearing is scheduled in three months.

However, by the time the 44-minute-long episode ends, Meredith is shown to be on an entirely different mission.

At her community service, a woman asks Meredith for medical help and she gets an intern to steal supplies from the Grey Sloan Hospital.

Soon, more patients are in line to seek help until the supervisor has to stop her. At that point, she tells the supervisor that the woman needs to see an E&T for the lump in her throat as it could be a cancer scare.

Meredith even brings her to the parking lot of Grey-Sloan to get her checked. Later, she is grateful that Meredith helped spot the disease. Otherwise, she would have waited two more months to get it checked.

Her major concern, however, comes to the fore when she confesses she cannot arrange for the funds for her treatment.

Meredith asks her, "The insurance doesn't cover it?" And that's when Meredith is hit by the ugly reality of medical insurance cover again.

Later, when Meredith meets DeLuca, she tells him how she stumbled upon too many patients at work. "No matter how much I try to lay low, I keep coming across more people who need help because of the same crap," she tells him.

She expressed her desire to "write about it and publish her work." It seems Meredith is on a new mission and it might take the series to a whole new dimension.

As one fan rightly pointed out, "At this point, 'Grey's Anatomy' will end only after Meredith is done landing on the moon all while holding onto her Nobel Prize." The third episode rolls out on Thursday, October 10, on ABC.
