For those fans who are still unable to come to terms with the fact that 'Arrow' will be coming to an end after eight seasons, there's some hope. The CW unveiled the official synopsis for 'Green Arrow and the Canaries', which is the final episode of 'Arrow' and the backdoor pilot for the expected spinoff starring Katherine McNamara as Mia, the daughter of Oliver Queen (Stephen Amell) and Felicity Smoak. The pilot will focus on a version of Star-City in 2040.

'Green Arrow And The Canaries' will release on January 21 on CW. 

Plot Details

The official synopsis for 'Green Arrow And The Canaries' reads: "It’s the year 2040 in Star City and Mia Queen (Katherine McNamara) has everything she could have ever wanted. However, when Laurel (Katie Cassidy) and Dinah (Juliana Harkavy) suddenly show up in her life again, things take a shocking turn and her perfect world is upended. Laurel and Dinah are tracking a kidnapping victim with direct ties to Mia and they need her help. Knowing it will change everything, Mia can’t help but be a hero and she, Laurel and Dinah suit up once again to save the city. Tara Miele directed the episode written by Beth Schwartz & Marc Guggenheim & Jill Blankenship and Oscar Balderrama."

Katherine McNamara

Katherine will play the role of Mia Smoak. She has acted in the show 'Happyland', as Harper Munroe, and she also had the lead role as Clary Fray in 'Shadowhunters'. She joined the cast of 'Arrow' in its seventh season.

Kate Cassidy

After playing leading roles in 'Harper's Island' and 'Melrose Place', Kate got her breakthrough role as Laurel Lance in 'Arrow'. She also voiced the character in the animated show 'Vixen'. 

Juliana Harkavy

Juliana Harkavy is known for her roles as Rebecca in 'Dolphin Tale', Jessie in 'To Write Love On her Arms', and Alisha in 'The Walking Dead'. She will portray Dinah Drake/ Black Canary in this episode.

Director 

Originally from Long Island, Tara Miele built her career working in both film and television. She is most well known for her work 'Meet a Muslim' that released in 2016.
