'GOT' sleuths claim to have cracked 'House of the Dragon' Season 2 ending with 'obvious' plot
Contains spoilers and speculation for 'House of the Dragon'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'House of the Dragon' Season 2 will stream on HBO on June 16, 2024. The ambitious series has an engaging plot and a scale that could put the biggest superhero movies to shame with its extravagant battle sequences and expansive production design.
Apart from a big-budget setup and an intriguing plot line, the 'Game of Thrones' prequel also boasts some of the most observant fans in the world who are always on the lookout for the tiniest of details and hints about the show.
The show is based on George R R Martin's 'Fire and Blood' and the die-hard fans of the series are well-versed with the events of the book and can't wait to see its visual interpretation for the screen when Season 2 drops.
Ever since the trailers for Season 2 came out though, fans started looking for the slightest of clues to know what will happen during the series and a few of them seem to have figured out where this season will end.
Fans predict the end of 'House of the Dragon' Season 2
'House of the Dragon' Season 2 begins the Dance of the Dragons which is a civil war that takes place between the Targaryen house. The event spans two years in the book and fans who have read the book think that Season 2 will end at the point where Rhaenyra Targaryen (Emma D'Arcy) takes King's Landing.
A Reddit user posted, "So... Season 2 is ending at *that* point, right?", The user continued "I mean Rhaenyra taking King's Landing." The event where Rhaenyra takes King's Landing is a significant event but it isn't the end of Dance of the Dragons as Aegon II Targaryen (Tom Glynn-Carney) flees King's Landing and Rhaenyra begins a manic search for him.
The user also predicted the deaths that will happen in the season, "Jaehaerys at King's Landing. Rhaenys at Rook's Rest. Jace at the Gullet. Otto and his son Gwayne at King's Landing. (Daemon's most cathartic moment in the entire war I'm sure). The entirety of House Strong in Harrenhal (Aemond's descent into full villainy and also his most cathartic moment in the entire war)."
Other users, however, were not so sure about Rhaenyra taking King's Landing being the end of Season 2. Another Reddit user commented, "Gullet was pushed back til season 3. Also if Rhaenyra takes Kings Landing in the finale, then Otto being executed would almost definitely happen in the season 3 premiere imo."
Others were careful about speculating. A Reddit user commented, "We can't confirm any of that happening this season, so far there is little indication. We know Daemon will spend most of the season in Harrenhal, the Sowing of the Seeds will probably happen in the final quarter."
Will Rhaenyra Targaryen win in 'House of the Dragon' Season 2?
Rhaenyra Targaryen goes up against Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke) in Season 2 as she stakes her claim to the Iron Throne. Season 2 will involve physical and diplomatic warfare as Team Black (Rhaenyra and her allies) and Team Green (Alicent and her allies) fight a battle for supremacy.
The battle that is known as Dance of the Dragons will be won by Rhaenyra's team although, that is unlikely to take place in Season 2 and will most likely happen in Season 3 or Season 4.
Rhaenyra does rule over King's Landing but her rule ends up being short-lived as she eventually dies at the hands of Aegon II Targaryen, who feeds her to the dragon Sunfyre.
When the dust settles, the person to sit on the throne is Rhaenyra and Daemon Targaryen's (Matt Smith) son Aegon III Targaryen.
