Golden Globes 2020: Date, time, host, where to watch and everything you need to know about the 77th annual awards
Are you ready to witness the glitz, glamor and magic of Hollywood’s party of the year? The 77th annual Golden Globe Awards, which celebrates standout performances in film and TV, is all set to be held at the beginning of the year.
One of the biggest nights on the calendar for live viewing, the Golden Globes serve as the official kickoff to the 2020 awards season. 25 categories, including 14 in film and 11 in television, are voted on by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA).
Date
The annual awards night will be held at The Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California.
Time
The three-hour telecast will air live on NBC coast-to-coast on January 5, at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT. Viewers in UK will have to wait until 1 am BST on January 6 to follow along with the ceremony. In Australia, it starts on January 6 at noon AEDT. For Indian viewers, it will air at 6.30 am IST.
The official red carpet pre-show, 'HFPA Presents Globes Red Carpet Live', will be held at the Beverly Hilton on Facebook Watch from 3 pm to 5 pm PT.

Who is hosting?
Global comedy superstar Ricky Gervais, in his unique and legendary fashion, will resume hosting duties for a record fifth time. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, he said, "As soon as NBC called and said, 'Do you want to do it?' I thought, 'Well, that's Christmas ruined because I've got to work.'" He added, "People think that I'd go out there and I'd get drunk and say off-the-cuff (things). I don't. I write jokes."
Nominations
The nominations for the 77th Annual Golden Globe Awards were announced on December 9. Voted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA), which is made up of 90 journalists from around the world, the nominations were announced by Tim Allen, Susan Kelechi Watson, and Dakota Fanning.
