Golden Disc Awards 2021: Blackpink, BTS, Loona and Monsta X win big, here are all the winners of K-pop's biggest honor

For major awards, the winners will be decided 60% based on sales and 40% based on the judges’ scores

Golden Disc Awards 2021 is all set to begin in a while and all the K-pop enthusiasts around the world are looking forward to the 35th edition of the prestigious award show to see if their favorite K-pop sensations are taking home some of the most esteemed awards. From Grammy-nominated BTS, Nation’s popular girl-group Twice to record-breaking Blackpink, 4th generation K-pop superstars NCT and Stray Kids, check all the nominations below. 

Popular girl-group Loona and The Boyz bagged the esteemed 'Next Generation Award' at the 35th Golden Disc Awards on Day 1. Blackpink was the winner for best digital song for 'How You Like That' and Hwa Sa won Bonsang (Digital) at the Golden Disc Awards. Itzy, Red Velvet, Zico, Oh My Girl, Mamamoo and Noel won the Bonsang award on the first day of GDA 2021. BTS and IU also won the Bonsang award. Im Young Woong is taking home the Best Trot Award at the 35th Golden Disc Awards. Monsta X has been declared the Best Group. Meanwhile, Jessi snagged the Best Solo Artist Award. Lee Seung Gi got the award for the Best Ballad. IU is taking home another 'daesang' for 'Blueming'.

Other categories of nomination include Digital Song Division Bonsang (Main Award), Album Division Bonsang (Main Award), Rookie Artist of the Year and Popularity Award.

Before we go into the list of nominations, here are a few of the details you need to know about the GDA 2021. The award show, which will take place for two days straight, has assigned individual days to highlight the achievements of the K-pop music industry in 2020. The first day will be focused on the digital releases of 2020 while day two will award the achievements in the category of physical album releases of 2020. 

The award ceremony has also revealed the criteria for winning the prestigious GDA 2021. For major awards, the winners will be decided 60% based on sales and 40% based on the judges’ scores.

Golden Disc Awards 2021 will air from JTBC Network on JTBC, JTBC2 and JTBC4. This year, the show will take place without the presence of any live audience. For the global audience, GDA 2021 can be streamed from a number of digital streaming platforms including LG U+, QQ MUSIC, POPS, http://LIVECON.TV, GYAO! and HAMI.
