Golden Disc Awards 2021 Full List of Performers: BTS and Twice to Stray Kids and NCT, here’s the complete line-up
Golden Disc Awards 2021 at the beginning of 2021 is ready to set the mood of the year with a grand lineup of 2020’s Best of K-pop artists and performers, celebrating the most popular albums and singles of K-pop 2020 in all its glory. GDA 2021 will continue for two days, and the star-studded lineup includes the global sensations from Grammy-nominated BTS to Time Best Songs of 2020 ranking Stray Kids. Known as Nation’s girl group Twice and K-pop 4th generation stars NCT 127 will also be joining the award show this year.
The 35th edition of the Golden Disc Awards will be pre-recorded and held without the presence of a live audience this year following the Covid-19 guidelines. Deemed as one of the most prestigious award shows of South Korea, Golden Disc Awards started in 1986. One of the main attractions for the award show lies in its tradition of highlighting the previous year’s best of music sales, both the digital sales and physical album sales along with an award for the ‘rookie of the year’. The newbies in K-pop, YG Entertainment’s Treasure, CRAVITY and Big Hit Entertainment’s rookie group Enhypen will be fighting for the Rookie award of the year along with Drippin, H & D, Kim Ho-joong, MCND, Sin Ye-young, TOO, Lee Eun-sang and WEI.
The award show has also specified the two categories for both the days. The first day of the award show will highlight the Digital Song Division and the following day is for the Album Division, which will award the highest physical sales of the year, 2020. The award ceremony has also revealed the criteria for winning the prestigious GDA 2021. For major awards, the winners will be decided based on 60% based on sales and 40% based on the judges’ scores.
Golden Disc Awards 2021 will be hosted by ‘Parasite’ and ‘Record of Youth’ actress Park So-dam, ‘Because You're My Woman’ crooner Lee Seung-gi, ‘The Beauty Inside’ actress Lee Da-hee and ‘The Voice of Korea 2020’ host Sung Si-kyung. While Park So Dam and Lee Seung Gi will host the mega event on the first day of the award show, Lee Da-hee and Sung Si-kyung will ramp the stage on day second.
