The much-coveted Golden Disc Awards 2021 with a star-studded K-pop lineup is here to set the mood for the new year, but the two-day award show will unfortunately not have all the K-pop superstars on the same day. Fans of Grammy-nominated K-pop group BTS are just finding out that the septet will be appearing for Day 2 of GDA 2021.

Why is BTS not performing on GDA 2021 Day 1?

The Golden Disc Awards 2021 slated to take place from January 9 to January 10 has made sure to divide the K-pop stars lineup in a way so that fans can get equal amount of brilliant performances throughout both the days. The first day of the award show dedicated to highlighting the digital sales of the K-pop music industry in 2020 will have some of the biggest names including Mamamoo, The Boyz, Monsta X and ITZY performing. However, BTS will only appear on Day 2, when the award show will focus on the records of physical sales of albums that happened in 2020.

BTS has broken some major records this year in terms of physical sales. The group sold more than 4.3M copies of 'Map of the Soul: 7' in just over six months, which makes BTS a strong contender for the second-day main award of GDA 2021, Album Division Bonsang.
