Finnish director Alli Haapasalo, known for her female-driven films, is back with another gem that that really shined at the Sundance Film Festival

Women-oriented movies are increasingly popular and many of these have garnered acclaim for their realistic plots. People, and not just women, love seeing strong women on screen. Finnish film director and screenwriter Alli Haapasalo, who received acclaim for 'Force of Habit' (2019), 'Nyrkki' (2019) and 'Breath' (2005), all women-centric films, is coming up with her next venture, 'Girl Picture.' A romantic coming-of-age film, the story is about three teenage girls and their lives as they approach womanhood. The film was lauded when it was screened at the Sundance Film Festival this year. Ilona Ahti and Daniela Hakulinen wrote the screenplay for the film.

While Mimmi and Emma experience the earth moving effects of first love, Rönkkö is on a quest to find pleasure."
