Gerard Pique gave Shakira FULL CUSTODY of their two sons before she moved to Miami
MIAMI, FLORIDA: Following several turbulent months, Shakira can now take a deep sigh of relief. Shakira's plan of moving to Miami can now go smoothly since ex Gerard Piqué had decided to back off, granting the Colombian singer full custody of their boys, Milan and Sasha, last year itself. The secret arrangement between the artist and the retired football star allowed Shakira to return to the United States.
According to La Vanguardia, the ex-couple and their attorneys conducted a 12-hour bargaining session in November. Gerard Piqué spent Christmas in Barcelona with his sons before watching them go for their new lives in Florida.

Reportedly, Piqué made the sacrifice for the welfare of the kids, who would start attending a new Miami school that Shakira has chosen for them in 2023. On September 15, Shakira and Gerard Piqué had a legal consultation in Barcelona, Spain. Together with her attorneys Pilar Maé and Diego Muoz, the 45-year-old singer met with the 35-year-old former soccer star, who, according to La Vanguardia, left the meeting after 30 minutes.
According to the newspaper, the soccer star was concerned that if his children spent a lot of time away from their paternal grandparents, who reside next door to their home in Spain, it may harm their bond with them.
Some more tea to the custody
El Periodico and La Vanguardia reported in March that Shakira had until this month to vacate the Esplugues de Llobregat property she has occupied since divorcing Gerard last year or face a "compensation" payment. Shakira revealed her reasons for leaving Barcelona through a post on Instagram. She stated in the post, "I settled in Barcelona to provide my children the stability, the same we are now seeking for in another part of the world near to family, friends, and the sea."
"Today we start a new chapter in the pursuit of their happiness. Thank you to everyone who surfed alongside me in so many waves there in Barcelona, the city where I learned that friendship is certainly longer than love," the "Waka Waka" singer, who split from Gerard after a 12-year relationship due to his infidelity, added.
"Thank you to everyone who has been there to cheer me up, dried my tears, inspired me and made me grow. Thanks to my Spanish audience who have always covered me with their love and loyalty. For you, just see you later, and as my father said so many times, see you around the curves!" she concluded.
